Well, it’s getting close to Christmas, so...
Happy now?
A few days ago, somebody at YouTube asked me if I would be so kind
as to make a video answering some questions about the new Analytics feature,
which I did,
and after I had scripted it and rehearsed it
and filmed it and edited it and uploaded it and everything else,
he told me actually it’s not called “Google Analytics”, it’s called “YouTube Analytics”.
Apparently YouTube made a bit of a mess of the translation of the interface into German.
Ah well.
And in my last Update video I also talked about “Doctor Who”,
just briefly, and said it had never really taken off in Germany; and...
as if somebody upstairs had heard me say that and decided to play with me a little bit,
I discovered that in fact...
the Fox Channel in Germany is about to start broadcasting one of the recent series.
Which surprised me, but... you know...
I still stand by what I said:
it’s not the first time they’ve attempted to bring “Doctor Who” into Germany,
all other attempts have basically failed;
and the Fox Channel in Germany is a very small...
...pay-per-view channel that’s been very recently set up, is my understanding, so...
Yeah, I still stand by what I said.
It’s not really been a success.
But, still, you know...
I like to get things right,
and it’s always a little bit of a downer when I get it wrong.
A certain kingcolered asked me, if I could learn any other language in the world,
what language would it be? And my answer is:
Humpback Whale.
And the reason I would choose Humpback Whale is because
I would like to know what humpback whales actually are saying to each other.
You know, there’s theories about this:
I don’t know, singing to each other across the oceans;
what is it to do with? Mating, or just keeping in contact, or whatever.
Personally, I think that what they’re saying,
given that there are all these whales singing to each other all the time, I suspect
that the most common thing they’re saying is:
“Keep the noise down! Some of us are trying to sleep down here!”
But until we have somebody who can actually speak and understand whalesong,
we’ll never know for sure, will we?
That’s about all I’ve got for this particular video.
I mean, Christmas is coming, and there are Christmas markets everywhere,
and people buying things and decorating their houses...
...with too many lights.
And yeah, the season’s almost upon us.
But this won’t be my last video before then, don’t worry.
I’m just trying to think of things to say while I ramble on and on
to make this video a worthwhile video,
but I’m failing completely,
so therefore I think I should stop right now
before you all die of boredom.
