One of the first things that you're going to learn is how to stall. Stalling is when
you're riding and then for just an instant you pause in the riding and you just stop
and you're absolutely still. The reason this is important is because it's one of the building
blocks of many, many other tricks and different stunts that you do. So if you're able to control
the wheel, control where you're going, it will stop when you want to. You're going to
be much more capable of controlling the wheel and making it do what you want to when you're
trying to do a stunt or trying to get over an obstacle, etc. So basically what happens
when you're stalling is one foot is going to be either more down or more back and then
the other one is going to be more up and more forward, and you're going to have a tendency
to always have one foot back. This will be your dominant foot. So in order to make the
tricks easier you have to be able to do them with both feet, and so when you're learning
how to stall be sure to be doing it, try it with your right foot back and then try it
again with your left foot back. So let me show you what I mean. So we're riding and
then I'm just going to stall for a second and then ride and then try it with the other
foot, and so practice that and then you'll be able to move on to the more advanced tricks.
