where we share with you tips, methods techniques and security reviews
to securing your home effectively and efficiently. I'm Gabriel from House-Safety.com
and in today's home safety minute i'm gonna answer one of the many most
frequently asked questions on house safety.
And today's questions of the day is: How can i make my windows more secure?
And the answer to the... before we get into the...
before we get into the answer of that there is an interesting fact that
i want to share with you guys first, alright and the first fact is 6 out of 10 burglaries
begin with entry trough the window at the back of the house, alright
so that's the most important thing that i just wanted to share with you guys
and to prevent this from happening you should use the following:
there are basically 3 ways to go around it. The first way is to obviously have
A locking casement stay used on the outward opening windows.
The stay is fixed to the bottom of the opening window and the pins
are fitted to the frame. So, The stay fits over the pins
and is locked and released by use of a key. The second tip is:
A locking casement fastener used on outward opening windows.
The fastener is fitted to the side of the of the opening window and the wedge
or keep is fitted to the frame. The fastener is locked and released
by use of a key. And the third one which is an alternative
is to actually have non-locking windows stays and fasteners can be used with
the addition of a separate key operated lock. The lock should be fitted on the
window frame opposite the hinges.
well that is it everyone for today's short tip on home safety.
