What happens when an entire organization closes its doors,
so over 1,400 associates can give back to the community?
Lives are enriched.
Habitat is maintained.
Shorelines are cleaned
Children in need get counselling.
People are fed.
Invasive species are removed.
Parks are cleaned.
Fundraising campaigns are built.
Trees are planted.
Children are given hope.
Leaders are born.
At LoyaltyOne, our focus is enriching relationships
between companies and their customers,
so it's a natural progression
to enrich the lives of those around us.
And that's what CommunityOne Day is all about.
Every year on this day, each and everyone
of our over 1,400 associates steps out of the office,
rolls up their sleeves and makes a difference in the community.
This year, we pitched in
and helped a total of 13 important charities in Toronto,
Mississauga, Calgary and Montreal.
We did everything from picking up litter,
to developing fundraising campaigns.
It was a fantastic day.
We helped build a website.
Cleaned computers.
Cleaned a park.
Cleaned a shoreline.
We cooked for 100 people.
Did dishes for 100 people. And...
And...
And we danced.

One of the charities we supported
was Future Possibilities for Kids.
It was a great experience because not only did the kids
learn valuable leadership skills by teaching us a flash mob,
but we also helped them raise awareness
for their very important cause.
What's going on here?
Um, we're running around learning this flash mob dance,
um, trying to figure it out.
I think I've lost about 10 pounds,
um, trying to learn from these kids.
So, Future Possibilities for Kids
is keeping a number of kids out of the streets
and making them do something active,
and they can... so they can understand
that there are other things you can do
outside of doing something bad.
It means a lot to me because this is the first time
I've actually done anything like this in public because...
usually I'm afraid to do stuff like this,
but, um, today, it's good.
It was... It was fun that's for sure.

I didn't think it would take three hours to figure it out,
thought we'd figure out much quicker than that.
But there was some people...
that just couldn't get it.
Two left feet.
Yeah. (Laughter)
