Hello. It is my pleasure to extend the warmest holiday
greeting to you, my NGA family. This season is a time of celebration, generosity,
and thanks. Whether you and your family gather around
a Christmas tree, honor your heritage with kinara candles,
deliver blessings over a Menorah, or observe the season in a more personal manner,
the holidays are truly a special time of year. These traditions bring us together and strengthen
our common bonds, while the ideals expressed during the holiday
season are ones of hope and community. Peace on Earth, good will toward all.
For NGA, these ideals are woven right into our DNA.
Our mission is vital to policymakers and warfighters as we all strive to create a safer and more
peaceful world for our families. And our work assisting disaster relief at
home and abroad is very much driven by our desire to help
those in need. To extend a helping hand of goodwill to those
of us who need it. So we work to make our agency better because
we live for a better world. And with each successive holiday season, we
reflect on our progress and celebrate our shared successes.
As a combat support agency, we are also mindful of the men and women in uniform
who are serving overseas - often in harm's way.
For them, a holiday season away from their families is another
in a long line of sacrifices they make for our country.
We thank them for their commitment, their courage, and their sacrifice.
And I offer my thanks to everyone here at NGA for working so hard,
day in and day out, in this country and around the world,
to support our mission and our nation. Personally, the holiday season is a time to
reflect on the blessings that I have received throughout the year.
I am blessed to lead the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
And I am blessed to have such an agile, adaptive, and diverse
workforce driving this agency into the future. From my family to yours, I wish you a joyous,
merry, and Happy Holiday.
