Hello again. Today my puppets and I will teach you the personal pronouns and conjugation with regular verbs in the present tense. Don't forget to turn on the subtitles and annotations. Let's start.
ich - I
du - you (singular, informal)
er - he (also it for masculine nouns)
sie - she (also it for feminine nouns) es - it
wir - we ihr - you (plural, informal) sie - they Sie - you (singular or plural, formal)
ich schreibe - I write. du schreibst - You write. er schreibt. = He writes.
We can read what is on the screen without these stupid subtitles. Why did you tell us to turn these things on?
We begin with a verb. This verb ends with -en. We take away these letters. We attach other letters to the verb. These other letters must agree with the personal pronouns.
Them thahr endings are: ich- e; du- st; er, sie, es- t; wir- en; ihr- t; sie, Sie- en
This is a conjugation example. The stuff you need to read is at the top of the screen. Why are you reading this instead of paying attention?
How can one remember these endings?
icky dust ten ten. (I proceed to repeat myself a bunch of times. This is to get you to think about what this little phrase means. When you need to conjugate something, think "icky dust ten ten".)
Still repeating myself for the effect. LANGWEILIG!
If there is a "D" at the end of the verb stem, one must use an "E" between the verb stem and the ending with "du", "er, sie, es" and "ihr". For example:
Example stuff. Look up. There is the conjugation stuff.
It works the same way, when there is a "T" at the end of the verb stem.
Examply type stuff.
One does this also if there is a consonant and "M" or "N" together at the end of the stem.
Translation on the screen.
More stuff on the screen.
If there is an "S" at the end of the verbstem, one does not need an extra "S" with "du".
Example stuffs.
It is the same way if there is a "Z", "ß", "Z", or "X" there.
Loud noises.
And now, a test. Conjugate the following verbs: spielen.
gehen
reisen
reiten
senden
