Paul d'Oliveira attorney from the law firm of d'Oliveira & Associates. Metal on metal
hip implants. For years hip implants were made of metal, plastic, and ceramic materials.
However, in recent years hip implant manufacturers have produced an increasing number of metal
on metal hip implant devices. That means that both the ball from the top of the leg and
the cup rubbing together both made of metal caused metal debris to enter into the bloodstream
causing tissue damage, fractures and a number of other side effects. It was thought that
the metal on metal device would last longer than the traditional nonmetal on metal device.
However, there have been a number of law suits filed against manufacturers as medical studies
are showing that these metal on metal hip implant devices fail at a higher rate. The
law suits allege that these manufactures did not properly test these devices before mass
marketing them. As I said some of the more common injuries are infection, loosening of
the device, bone fractures, tissue damage. The tissue damage happens from metal debris
entering into the bloodstream affecting surrounding tissues. Our firm is currently working with
some of the leading or more experienced rather law firms in the country who are litigating
these defective medical device cases. There is no fee until you obtain a settlement or
recovery. So feel free to contact us either online or call us toll free as we would be
