What's up Summoners, Nicole here to bring you the new Free champion rotation for week
3 of Season 4. So, last week we changed up the format a bit and I decided to give you
counters for the free champions, which I think worked out well. With all the players jumping
on the free champions for the week, it's good to know ways to make them pay for being cheap
and playing free champions! I'm only partially kidding! Let's get in to this week's champs.
Sivir is a physical damage fighter. She is weak against champions like Vayne, Draven
and Twitch, while strong against Jinx, Caitlyn and Gravs. In general you need to deny her
farm and use someone with hard CC against her. It's relatively easy to dodge her abilities,
which will keep you in lane. Sivir players usually try to stay in lane and push, so try
setting up a gank if she pushes blindly without wards.
Malphite is generally a jungler who is weak against Rumble, Cho'Gath and Yorick, whil
strong against a Jax or Fiora player. Against him you need to try to deny the blue buff
and his farm. Try to counter jungle and use hard CC. Although difficult, it is possible
to flash away from Malphite's ultimate, but it requires a good reaction time.
Anivia is a magical damage mage, generally seen in mid-lane. Some counter tips are to
punish her for missing her stun and interrupt during her ultimate. Avoid fighting in small
pathways in the jungle because of her wall and AOE abilities. She is weak against Fizz
and Kassadin, while strong against Ryze and Kayle.
Karthus is weak against Kassadin, Fizz and Katarina, while strong against Yasuo and Wukong.
While against be sure to step away from his corpse when he dies to avoid the massive damage,
also buy a hexdrinker or Banshee's Veil, which will greatly increase your chance to survive
Requiem.
Shen is a physical damage fighter who can turn a 1v1 into a 1v2 in an instant. Try putting
a champion with a disable in his lane, so they can interrupt his ultimate. It's important
to try and juke Shen's taunt, this will give him a harder time to stick onto his targets.
Orianna is a magical damage mage. Against her you will need to try and deny farm, dodge
her abilities and attempt to kite and poke. Although her auto attacks and spells do massive
damage, she is very fragile, focus on her during a teamfight to get her outta there.
She is weak against LeBlanc and Syndra, while strong against Annie and Ryze.
Draven is a physical damage fighter with incredibly strong axes. It's important to play safe against
him early game so he doesn't get fat. Try to deny his farm and outsustain him in lane.
Punish him when he moves to catch his axes with a skillshot harass or CC from a support.
Elise the Spiderqueen can be played from anywhere on the map. She is weak against Kassadin and
Yorick, while strong against Garen and Singed. Against her it is great to have some sort
of silence and the ability to build tenacity. Stay behind minions so she can't stun you,
and pay attention to when and where she uses Rappel. If she uses it to enter the team-fight,
focus on her, as that's her only escape.
Kha'Zix is a physical damage assassin. Try not to get yourself isolated against him,
as he deals increased damage to isolated targets. His jump ability has a long cooldown, so if
he wastes it, punish him hard. He is weak against Lee Sin and Rengar, while strong against
Kassadin and Ashe.
Lastly Nami the Tidecaller is a support champion who is strong against Draven and Taric, while
weak against Lulu and Ezreal. You can really play aggressively against her early game,
especially if you can easily dodge her abilities like Aqua Prison and her ultimate. Build Tenacity
and outsustain her to beat her down.
So those are the free champions for this week and the best ways to counter them in-game.
