American flag etiquette and the rules concerning the public display and treatment of our nation's
flag, or "Old Glory", is something that every American should become familiar with. Hi,
I'm Captain Joe Bruni, with over three decades of fire fighting, honor guard, and EMS experience.
Our nation's flag is meant to be carried free and floating aloft. At no time is the American
flag meant to be carried flat or horizontally. Sporting events, where it has become common
to display the the American flag in this type of fashion on the field of play, where it
is flat or displayed horizontally is incorrect, and goes against the rules of American flag
display and flag etiquette. Americans should take the time to familiarize themselves with
all of the rules pertaining to American flag etiquette, which can be found in various places
throughout this great nation. Nothing displays the pride we have in our nation of being a
free nation than the free, floating, aloft flying flag of our American nation. I'm Captain
Joe Bruni. Stay safe. See ya' next time.
