Hi, I'd like to give you a quick example of how mathematics might come into play in carpentry.
So suppose that we have a wall that we're building, and we need to space four windows
equally across that wall. Well, let's say that our wall is thirty feet wide. Well, in
order to equally space the windows, we simply need to take the length of the ball, and divide
it by one more than the number of windows that we have. So that would go like this.
We've got a thirty foot wall with four windows, so we're going to divide thirty by one more
than the number of windows that we have.
Thus, we end up with six feet, where we need to center our windows at six feet intervals
along the wall.
