But what are customers saying after they have owned and used the PX 100-II i Headset and
tried it out for themselves? Reviewer #1 compares his new px 100-II to
his older px 100 which he used to use for many years. In his opinion, he says that
"...there is no question the new version sound MUCH better than the old." He finds them to
be more dynamic,
detailed, and says that they have much better, more defined bass, and that the
Instrumental separation is vastly improved. In his opinion it takes about
30 hours or so to break them in for peak quality. In conclusion he writes that they have
"Overall a very natural and balanced sound, but detailed and dynamic at the same time."
Reviewer #2 disagrees with users who say tht the older PX 100 model sounds better than
the newer PX 100-II i and says, "For me, these headphones sound at least as
good as the older model," and he gives them a rating of
5 stars out of 5. In conclusion he says, "For me, these headphones sound at least as
good as the older model, and they look better." But Reviewer #3 is not perfectly thrilled
with the Sennheiser PX 100-II i Light Weight Headset because he feels that the
bass is a little bit over emphasized, and says that
"...the engineers pushed the envelope a little bit too far in the pursuit of more and not
better bass." He would classify the PX 100-II i as a
semi-open headphone because, as he puts it, "...the soundstage was not as wide as I expected
from an open-back headphone." Apart from the the bass issue, the PX 100-II i headset has
an Overall balanced frequency response, though
it seems to have a minor blur in complex music like orchestral
work. To him the Cable connectors seem thin and fragile, but
still, in conclusion, he calls them "...very nice sound in a very affordable pair
of headphones." Reviewer #4 uses his for listening to music,
primarily from an iPod, and says that they have
"Great sound quality" and that they are "Extremely comfortable," so that he often
falls to sleep with them on while listening to music in bed, and they
never make his ears ache because they have "...just the right amount of pressure for
good sound but not too tight to hurt your head or ears" He also likes that the
folding style gives them easy portability. What he doesn't like very much is that he
finds the cord to be short so that he doesn't have much
length to move around with. He also finds the
cord not very durable. He is now on his third pair because they tend to short out right
at the plug, so that his previous two sets only lasted about two years each.
Reviewer #5 uses them a lot for travel and calls them a
"tremendous value" and a "...surprisingly high quality portable sound
system" which is Light, and which
Clamp the ears gently so that he gets Hours of easy listening without fatigue. He
also appreciates the Open-back configuration which gives some sound
penetration so that he can hear conversations around him. He describes the sound as
silky, but clear and accurate. It tends to bring out the bass a bit more, but otherwise
keeps the sound very balanced and detailed.
Reviewer #6 calls them "Fantastic Headphones!!!" which are in many
ways superior to the earlier PX 100 model because of their
Bass, Balance,
imaging, and because an improved design which uses
one connecting wire instead of two. In conclusion he says,
"For the money...the quality, comfort and convenience...these are a STEAL!!"
Reviewer #7 considers himself to be an audiophile and says he finds that
Price Vs. Performance is quite good with the PX-100 II i. He finds the sound to be
clean and smooth, and he doesn't mind that it is
a little heavy on the bass because it allows him to hear the low bass that he has never
heard with his ear buds. He also appreciates the
outside sound penetration that keeps him safe while he uses the headset riding his bike
in traffic. And he thinks that the "folding feature is really very cool" for
easy portability. Reviewer #8 says,
"The PX 100-IIi are everything I wanted for a good sounding portable set of headphones
for my iPhone 4," because "They are nice and light," they are
"very comfortable," and because they "fold fairly quick and easily for transport."
He likes the good sound quality, but finds it to be
"a little on the bassy side" "with the mids and highs a little on the light
side." For him the most important feature is the
Sound leakage which keeps him safe while he walks outside by letting him hear what's going
on around him. He finds that the Inline remote works fine with his iPhone 4,
though it does take practice skipping tracks backward and
forward. Reviewer #9 says that he is
"completely satisfied with this product" because he was looking for a set of over-the-ear headphones
that would give him portability,
durability, Great sound, and a
microphone with a "smart remote", and another useful feature he likes when having a phone
conversation is that with the open back design he can hear his own voice while he is speaking.
Reviewer #10 calls them "Great, but not perfect." When he first saw
them and took them out of the box he was surprised about the
Sound quality and the Comfort, and by how
Light, Portable, and
Small they are. He did not like the Sound penetration feature because it allows
the smallest external noise to enter, and because it lets the people near him hear what
he is listening to. Reviewer #11 wrote his review on the same
day he first got his headphones, and says he was immediately impressed with how
Comfortable they are, and with the "Remarkably good sound quality for its size
and price." He calls them a Worthwhile upgrade from the original PX 100
model, and says that the lower end sounds are tighter and less dark.
But the PX 200-II would be a better choice if you
need good sound isolation. And finally, Reviewer #12 calls it an
"Amazing purchase!" because "...all the frequencies came out beautifully"
with "great mids,
amazing lows, and beautiful highs with
Amazing detail that let him hear new sounds that he had never heard before.
He thought they were great with MP 3 players like his iPod touch
and for his COD4. His one problem is that, since he
is a big man with a large head, the headphones started to
hurt his ears after about 45 minutes. In conclusion he says,
"...for this price point you simply can't go wrong."
