Hi, I'm Tristan McCauley from Lucky 7 Tattoo, and I'm here to talk to you about converting
gauges to millimeters. Let's take for instance an 18 gauge piece of jewelry. What you want
to do is take a small length of string, go around the circumference of that piece of
jewelry. You then measure that in inches. So, an 18 gauge is .125 inches. You then multiply
that by pi, which is 3.14. And you get .4 to 0. There are twenty five millimeters in
an inch, so, you multiply 25.4 by a .40, and you get 1.02 millimeters, so in essence, an
18 gauge is equal to 1.02 millimeters. This rule applies to just about any size jewelry,
from a two gauge, up to a half inch. Just measure it, multiply it by pi, and then go
from there. And that is how you convert body jewelry from gauges to millimeters.
