hi today we are going to show you how to take a bit of shaky footage and salvage
it using apples motion software we have preloaded some video from a local dance
performance this video would be good if it wasn't for the distracting camera
movement but using motion we can remove the shakiness and save the footage let's
get started select the clip and click on "add behavior"-> "motion tracking" -> "stabilize"
you'll notice a purple stabilize layer has been added to the timeline
and is automatically selected now we can take a look at the inspector tab
and choose our settings to stabilize our video. the first option you want to look
at is method. select "stabilize" if your video is essentially static shot meaning
camera isn't moving around but he's just a bit shaky. select "smooth" if the
camera is moving around and you just want to smooth out the motion. for this
clip we will use "smooth". ok let's look at the "position", "scale" and "rotation"
buttons. "position" smooths out the bumps; "scale" will help compensate for jerkiness
while zooming in or out; "rotation" keeps the frame from tilting back and
forth.
in most instances you want to select position and rotation to fix your video
ok click "analyze" and the computer will go to work when it's finished click
"play" to see the result. notice how the video moves around going in and out of
the frame
but the subject seem stable. let's change the border setting from normal to zoom. now
the video will move around but will always completely fill the frame.
let's watch
doesn't that look better
in just a few simple steps we've taken out the distracting camera shake
so the viewer can focus on the subject
thank you for watching zero to sixty you want to talk video give us a call!
