hello everyone Wellxam G'amer here
I am here to bring you a how to not fail at LFR video
this should be the beginning of a
hopefully continuing series of
all the things you should and should not do in LFR
hopefully alleviates a lot of the horrible horrible group there are
now if you'll note the time down here when I queued
um in a moment I will be teleporting to
here which is when
the queue actually pops and if you look at the time down here
that is a ridiculous wait time I mean that's like 20 minutes
that I could have I mean granted, I had other stuff to do I'm here at Timeless Isles
There's lots to kill here
but still for if I didn't have anything to do and I just wanted to do LFR
I mean it's ridiculous that I have to wait that long
know I will address that in the future video so
right now let's just get to you the DPS aspect of LFR
now the first thing you should know is
that as a DPS you have absolutely
no responsibility there's absolutely nothing
that you are REQUIRED to do, now
a lot of times people can
get jealous love the fact that you don't have to do ANYTHING
and they might kick you for that reason but
If you get kicked, and they try and cite some excuse like
you dps is too low I... 15k!!...
what... what is that, that's horrible. If they start
pulling that kinda crap just know that they're
QQing and a move on with your life
their irrelivant. now... here we're waiting on a
lazy take who is deciding that he is going to "BE RIGHT BACK"
because he wasn't ready when the queue popped... now if you see that you think
well I mean he he said he'd be right back,
"he must have something to do" I don't think you fully grasp that he's a TANK
tanks have insta-queues, they queue
and then enter LFR, Their Longest
queue time is like five seconds as opposed to us DPS who have to wait twenty plus
minutes
so you have a five second queue time and you are going to...
"BE RIGHT BACK" after you come in... NO, either
wait to queue when you're ready or don't queue at all. we don't need lazy tanks
that that's ridiculous but anyway
up Here I am not doing much DPS, I',
throwing on my a D.O.T.
every once in a while so you really have to do and
at that you don't have to do that it's a
generally considered to polite to throw down some DPS
as I said people get jealous that you don't have to do anything
and if uh... if you're not doing anything
well they have... they don't have justification but...
they they can cite it and they might get some people on their side because
other people are also jealous is the fact that you don't have to do anything
know if you look in the lower right hand corner of my screen You'll see some uh...
fancy colored bars with numbers to the right at them and
this is a DPS meter now this is entirely not essential for any raid
its mainly used by those who
want to you have an excuse and
point the blame at any DPS in the group
now what the healers and tanks, who use this don't
realize, or, they might realize it and just do it anyway
is that their job their job is the only one of responsibility
the DPS are irrelevant... a tank with healers
should be able to solo a 25 man heroic raid
I mean if they know what they're doing there's no reason they need DPS what so
ever
now, they'll use this to cite
DPS that "aren't doing their job," as they would put it
when in actuality if they were doing their job
as opposed to looking at the DPS meter then no wipe would have occurred
and you can assume away occurred if someone's using the DPS meter because
that's the only reason it's ever used, is
to say... "Hey, you DPS are doing your job"
"your job that you don't have to do anything in..."
"curse you DPS!!!"
I mean, it takes your eyes
off of the main focus at the screen to
whatever corner... now you could have it IN the middle the screen but then it's
blocking your view the main screen
so in any case if you're paying attention to the DPS meter
unless your DPS... you can't
effectively do your job it's just not possible
but moving on... we have now cleared all the trash
and we are now moving onto the Spirit Kings boss fight
now as you can see things are starting off as they should be, the tank is
running ahead the DPS are lazily following.
very good start now... I'm a range DPS which means I can stand
anywhere from directly in front of or behind or next to the boss
or as far away as my spells can reach or further
as I have mentioned and will continue to emphasize
I don't have to do anything so as you can see here I am... dancing
because you know its fun thing look at i can
dance around here you know if you'll notice
those guys ran past what do I care that's what the healers are for.
there's a lot of people who put just way too much emphasis on the term
"mechanics"... mechanics are to be noted
and some might argue that
you should KNOW the mechanics but
they're really just something to give the tanks and healers something to do
if the tank wants to avoid the big damaging spells
then, they can do that... it provides a little bit of a challenge
or if they don't or choose not to
then the healers then have something to heal through
now if you'll notice is a bunch a big guys here
running towards me and trying to swing as you'll notice I went up to give
him a big hug...
and he did no damage to me, that is a little known mechanic
of this fight it's a pretty fun want to know that's the only reason I mention it
they just want to give you a hug and if
I mean if you're attacking them were trying to avoid them then
yeah they're gonna knock you around a little bit I mean what else is a big
giant guy with a
mace suppose to do to someone that... doesn't wanna hug them
I mean its kinda given by the fact they're swinging a mace around
but anyway %uh I don't feel like doing too much damage here
so I'm going to go ahead and dance and alt tab out to YouTube to watch a little
video
("Nyan Cat" Plays ...)
(and plays...)
(and keeps on playing ...)
(End "Nyan Cat")
alright well I guess since that guys down, I'll jump back in the fight here
"Nyan Cat" is definitely something
that... just fits with any LFR
they even have a 10 hour version so you can listen to it for your whole raid
a I'm assuming you can get one done in
10 hours said it depends on the how closely follow this guide (;~P)
but anyway... um...
I feel like doing some damage now so I'll go ahead and
actively participate it's good to actively participate for at least some
of the raid
I mean like I said you don't want to make people so jealous that they kick you
and, I mean you you can help speed it along a little bit
it still most heavily reliant upon the
tank and healers, oh this is an interesting mechanic
so he's basically running in fear
and he is beginning to you reflects the damage you deal to him
as you can see by the tooltip and
it increases up to 100
for this portion the fight now this is when you wanna pop
all of your cooldowns and just nuke the crap out of him because
I mean he's reflecting damage at an increasing rate
so how are you going to do damage if...
you're not... (Baltazarus Dies) what the heck... THIS is what I'm talking about
the healers clearly don't know what they're doing
I mean I was nuking him while
he was reflecting damage and towards the end of that, he must have been
getting pretty close to reflecting ALL of the damage I was doing
back to me so I don't understand why they didn't know to use their healing
cooldowns
on the DPS I mean the DPS if they're participating can't just
stop doing damage because he's reflecting a hundred percent to the
damage back to the DPS
I mean come on healers I mean
that apparently they weren't THAT bad because we didn't wipe I think there's
just two dead
but that is definitely an indication of
sub-par healing and I guess that about wraps up episode one
I don't want you to lose your attention spans and
I don't wanna have to wait two days to publish the video so
I'll be back soon with episode two and
ya, enjoy the valuable lessons
