My role is the General Manager of the Students Union.
I have worked in that role for 18 years,
but in the mid 1980's I was a lecturer here for 3 years.
I think that what I liked about Bournemouth University is that
I liked it as a lecturer, I like it at the Student Union; is
fundamentally obviously the youth thing, the young the energy,
and all of that stuff but the university have been particularly
good in terms of, as I say again one of its core values is trust,
and the university have been very trusting with us over the years.
They have respected the fact that we are able to be critical
of them without punishing us
and I've rather enjoyed that their ability for them to trust us
that has helped us to do our job properly I think.
I know that the university's research suggests that the university
is a friendly place I don't know what that's about I don't know why
is it geographically it is only very small? Is it because people here are you know, kind?
And good people, and will help you across the road I don't
know what it is, but it feels that way and I kind of like being
part of that.
