The Can-Emitor was designed by american gas products for emptying aerosol spray cans
while complying with the current EPA regulations It is a common practice for many companies
to recycle their cans once they have been emptied The Can-Emitor empties and depressurizes
aerosol cans in just seconds without the need of an external power source
The Emitor utilizes as a completely sealed evacuation chamber
this sealed chamber protects the operator at all times. it complies with both the EPA's
and OSHA guidelines for worker protection The top of the equipment has a spring loaded
locking device that automatically engages into thr steel vertical rod mounted behind
the handle
this locking device does not allow the handles to rise keeping all the materials locked inside
the evacuation chamber
Notice the bottom of this device. The two inch threads that you see ar steel and they are the
same identical thread found on any twenty t0 fifty five-gallon drum
Yes the emitor will attach directly to the drum
In the event that your company does not generate enough waste to utilize a large drum
simply mount the emitor to a workstation and install a hose
kit on the bottom and attach one end of the hose to the emitor and the other end
to a smaller drum. Please make sure that you attach a ground
wire to prevent a build-up of static electricity
Disengage the locking device
lift the cover
and insert an aerosol can into the lower chamber
Lower the cover and a locking device will automatically secure the two chambers
the "O" ring between the two units prevents the leakage of liquids or propellants
Pull down on the handle and a hardened piercing tool will puncture the can't
Return the lever to the upright position to extract the tool from the empty aerosol
can
During the evacuation process of the can the emitor will make a three sixteenths diameter
hole in the side of the can down at the bottom just above the seam
After the aerosol spray can is punctured the liquid and propellants are expelled directly
into the drum
The propellants hydrocarbons and airborne particles are then channeled through the filter
where they are then absorbed
Once this is taken place the can is rendered harmless non explosive and environmentally
safe to recycle or discard
The Can Emitor is made of heat-treated T6 aluminum weighing fifteen pounds and measuring
twenty four inches long
The aerosol Can Emitor accepts all sizes of aerosol cans from the very smallest to
the largest
One very key point to remember about the system is that it remains sealed at all times If you are not
using the system simply lower the cover and at that point the Emitor is again sealed
The opening in the bottom measures nearly an inch and it's not likely to ever clog up
A wide range of industries from small restaurants to be extremely large industrial corporations
aerospace facilities government agencies and universities currently use the Can Emitor
We have sold these units to universities for their aerosol cans filled with chalk
Other companies have purchased this equipment to empty dated food products adhesives and smaller
cans like those that mace and hair products are packaged in The emitor has been sold
to thousands of companies worldwide since january of 1990 If you were trying
to decide just what it is that you need to purchase to get started you can start by buying
the Can Emitor and a filter
Choose the filter that best fits your needs you do not need a hose kit unless you decide
that maybe a fifty-five gallon drum is too large and you would be better off using a smaller
drum
