Hi my name is Vahram. I work over here at Taycor Financial. And I'm going to discuss
some of the topics of my Movember experience last month.
Movember is the recognition and raising awareness of men's health and men's health issues in the month of November. It
touches on topics of men's cancer specifically testicular and prostate cancer and also mental
health awareness including depression and anxiety. It takes place in the full month
of November from start to finish and it's celebrated and raises recognition by growing facial hairs specifically a mustache.
I decided to grow a mustache and participate in the
Movember awareness first and foremost to again raise awareness for men's health issues and
second with a group of friends of mine that had encouraged me to join the team. They mentioned
that I would grow an amazing mustache and of course, they were right. It was something
I was able to participate and help our team to raise funds for the month of November.
The worst part about growing a mustache for the month of November for Movember was it
got to a point where the mustache got itchy. This happened at about the 2 to 3 week point.
There after obviously this day and age, especially where we live, not too many people on a daily
basis have a mustache. So the different stares the awkward looks and the funny smiles was
definitely something I had to get used to at first but then it was all for the benefit
of men's health awareness.
I would definitely like to continue the tradition of the mustache for Movember. It's for a great
cause and with everything being considered, meaning all the itchiness of the facial hair,
all of the awkward looks and funny smiles, I still remind myself that this is for a very
important cause, men's health awareness, and continuing to raise funds and awareness for
this only helps more people get the proper medication and possible cure for future ailments for men's health.
