Hi there! Welcome to a new stamp tutorial from fairysale
Today I want to show you one of my favourite techniques.
We will stamp on fabric.
Before I stamp I prepare my cleaning pad. I use a simple sponge and water.
I use water to wipe off all water based paints and stamp pads.
To stamp on fabric we need fabric paints and sponges.
I use cheap sponges and cut them in half to save money and material.
This sponge will work as a stamp pad for us.
Feel free to use fabric stamp pads, but I prefer to use paints.
The paint we use has to be solid. Liquid paint would flow (?) into the fabric and won´t give a crisp image.
the paint I use is extremely solid, your paint an be a bit more liquid.
now use the sponge to spread the paint and colour the stamp.
You only need a small amount of paint, dont take too much to colour the stamp.
Put a bit of colour several times to the stamp is better than using too much paint and smear the image.
gentle tap the paint to the stamp
do NOT use a horizontal motion
never ever
slightly tap
You can make a print on normal paper to check if you coloured the stamp correctly and get a felling for the paint
perfect!
to prevent smudging the surface always use a sheet of paper under your working area. I put a paper inside the bag.
This project is perfect for children, its easy to do and inexpensive. Think of a party favour or playing with your kids on a rainy day.
press firmly. Do NOT wiggle. It looks as if I do, but this is the camera, not me.
well done!
don´t forget to clean the stamp
and dry with an old towel
repeat with other stamp images as you like
and clean the stamps
you can put the excess paint back to the bottle.
I hope you enjoyed the video
