Many people start exercising to loose weight and there is always someone who comes to tell you that you should drink a Protein Shake or to drink it before and after exercising, or have a protein shake for dinner.
However, what is the truth about protein shakes?
Shakes are a tool you may use to help your body but if you eat properly and on top of that take a protein shake, the result is additional calories and you may even gain weight and blame the shake for that simply because you are eating more.
The protein shake should be used a potential replacement snack and should be combined with some carbs and fruit. You may drink the shake after training to recover the energy spent while exercising.
In summary, you may drink the protein shake but make sure you are not adding extra calories to your regular diet and I recommend that look for advice on how to take the protein shake on a daily basis.
