Hi Consentidas!
Today I am going to prepare Vietnamese-style appetizers.
The ingredients that I am going to be using are:
Boston lettuce, mint,
fresh basil, bean sprouts, cilantro, green onions,
crushed garlic, fish sauce, spicy red pepper (optional), and brown sugar. To begin, I am going to gather a few mint
and basil leaves. I am going to cut the Boston lettuce leaves that I am going to need.
Next, I am going to chop the green onions
and cut the carrots
into thin, long slices. Also, I am going to chop mint, basil, and cilantro leaves.
The first step is to mix the vegetables.
In a bowl, I am going to place the carrots,
beans sprouts, green herbs
-- the mint, fresh basil, and cilantro --
and the green onions. I am going to mix everything. After mixing, I am going to add a tablespoon of white vinegar.
The second step is to make the dressing. For the dressing,
I am starting with a tablespoon of crushed garlic and I'm going to add two tablespoons
of fish sauce carefully
because it has a strong scent. Then, I am going to add a teaspoon of red pepper.
This is optional.
The dressing should be as spicy
as it is desired. And I am going to squeeze half a lime. Last, I am going to add two tablespoons of water and dissolve a tablespoon of brown sugar.
The third step is to serve! To build the appetizers, I begin
with the leaves of Boston lettuce. I am going to add the vegetables on top. Now that they are ready,
just add the dressing and serve. All done! Enjoy and bon appetit!
