It's been a while since the last progress reports on Sungazing and Sunyoga.
These have been at the 13th and 30th minute,
but much has happened since. I don't practise solely Sungazing but
combine it with Sunyoga, which incorporates Sungazing in my opinion.
But it is free from the restrictions Sungazing has.
There is no limit in regard to the maximum amount of time
one can meditate; there is no need to meditate only during the
first and last sun hour, but whenever you want.
The technique teaches how to accomplish this.
That was a while ago. I spent the winter in
sunny India and Indonesia, thus I could practise all the time.
It was my aim to learn more and to get to know people
who practise it for a long time and to hear what they've experienced.
A few things I have noticed, for the advanced Sungazer,
meaning those who are at minute 30 upwards.
To me, the rule, which says one should add 10 seconds,
is only applicable when you don't have an intuition.
Then it is the safest way. But when one has intuition
and feels that one would like to look longer and
it is easy to do so, no matter what the watch says,
one should follow this intuition. Because when you don't and stop,
although you felt you should have continued, a feeling of sadness
can occur, since one part of you knows it could have lasted longer.
On the other hand one should be aware not to overdo it.
Every day is different, the mental state, the sunlight.
So one day you are able to do 30 minutes, then 100 minutes.
One has to sense how much energy the body, the soul
are able to absorb.
And that varies from day to day.
Here the intuition comes into play. If you do too much,
it slops over and you get a problem or damage.
When you do less than possible, it hinders your progress.
So I decided to follow my intuition. One led to another.
My alarm clock rang, but I felt that it was no use to stop.
And I know how it feels when you do too much,
when you are too egoistic and ambitious.
Then you get a headache, cold feet and a lot more
tears than usual. Then I know it was too much.
So I continued and suddenly I was 10 minutes overdue.
On that day this was right to do.
The next day I did again more than I should, and
there I made a mistake. That was when I learned
that every day is unique.
This is essential. 0:03:28.000,0:03:32.000 So I extended it little by little.
I did also Vipassana for eight days
and my mind was very calm and I could look longer than
the protocol allows and was very relaxed.
I was already over 50 minutes and the sun appeared brighter
and I thought it was because it was high in the sky.
So I lowered my head instinctively and looked through the whiskers.
Since I felt comfortable I continued observing the sun. Then at
an even higher sun something suddenly switched. I was surprised that
I could look into it directly. So what was that?
First the sun is high and it is hard to look at,
then even higher and I am able to look directly again easily.
That was odd. Later also my breathing stopped during Sungazing
and one part of mind told me to panic, but the other said,
lets wait and see what happens. My breath was gone for approx
15 minutes and then reappeared softly and my mind was very calm
and it was easy to look into the sun.
I wondered how this happened. There I recognized that there
must be more than taught by Hira. It didn't make sense
to stop at minute 45 because the 46th minute harms your health.
There is no logic to it. Especially since you gain the
confidence through your practice that it is good for you.
I searched for someone who had the same questions and could help.
Online I found a picture of a yogi practising during
the noon sun. Who else but him could be a help?
In the first rush I wanted to fly to India,
but then decided to bring him to Germany, since there
may have been others who were interested. For him it was an
opportunity to spread his thoughts. He responded on the spot
and was open-minded.
So in autumn 2011 he held his first workshop in Germany.
I didn't tell him about my experiences but wanted to hear
what he has to say. He explained what you
experience at which angle of looking at the sun.
Like the fire-angle, which is exhausting, at the next angle,
the air-angle, it will be easier.
And that was exactly what I experienced.
But until then, I had no explanation.
And he said, when you meditate at this angle, what I did,
you will see that you'll stop breathing, again that's what's happened.
So he has to know, because his experience was
the same as mine. Then he continued telling what
will happen later on. One shouldn't believe blindly, but
I was confident since what he told was exactly what I experienced
beforehand and I continued. A common experience when you
practise sun meditation and have a calm mind is, that you
see dancing circles around it. With a few the sun changes its
colour and turns blue or black and the rays disappear.
That is a sign of success, a higher level.
It only happens when the mind is extra calm.
Also when you open your heart and give love to the sun,
treat the sun as a being. You'll be rewarded.
What you experience is pure heart opening. In the Kabbalah
the heart represents the inner sun and it is activated by Sunyoga.
Emotions like love, happiness, ecstasy appear, as everybody can
confirm who's doing this. They are created within oneself without an
external reason. The first interweavings around the heart, shame and fear, dissolve.
I can confirm this.
So finally I started meditating at sunrise,
about 8:30 am and continued until my intuition told
me to stop. I realize that I look higher every time
but it is easy nevertheless. While doing it convulsions appear,
which I allow. I learned in Kunlun, Tian Gong and Osho that
blockades dissolve that way. After the convulsions stop
it is easier to look, so something must have happened.
Also mudras, hand postures, happen on its own.
I do things spontaneously which makes it easier.
A intuitive change of an asana, a posture, eases it more.
I noticed the sun disappeared behind the house.
I had to stood up and change location to continue and realized
it was 1:30 pm.
So five hours have passed, looking straight into the sun,
combining Sungazing and Sunyoga. Sunyoga didn't ask for
the straight look into the sun to absorb the energy,
but you can. I did both. So I went over to the
neighbours' garden and felt that it was harder to meditate.
Reason was that I felt uncomfortable because I felt
the neighbours are watching. I know I was under observation.
First I was confused, since it was easy doing Sunmeditation at first,
then I move over 5 metres and it is suddenly difficult?
I couldn't understand it at first. Then I realized when I looked
at something dark-blue the afterglow seemed greenish and
when I looked at something yellow it was whitish.
Due to my training in Prof. Lüscher's psychological analysis of colours,
which in my opinion is the only working one, since it is not
based on subjective impressions but on an objective scientific approach.
There was a neighbour who was watching me and
I somehow felt this. And no matter what happens,
it is always OK and it has its reason.
But I said to myself that I don't want that,
I don't want this frequency. And the colour blue in
this example stands for affinity.
And I wanted to get my will, I didn't want the unity
with this person, I didn't want him watching me.
And this overwhelming will is green, which means where
blue exists I wanted green.
Hence, the change of colour in the afterglow was green.
This being the frustration. The compensation, the solution
was the move to a different place. This is an escape.
The inner freedom I didn't feel is yellow.
I wanted more of it, more freedom, which didn't happen.
This is white, a freedom stronger than yellow, which is known to
everybody with a training in Lüscher's colour scheme.
I found out that the mind is like a prism.
If you have a clear, loving mind the frequency of
the sunbeams will be absorbed as they are.
But if you want to change the situation, you activate the prism
and the sunbeams will be diffracted, shielded or distorted.
That happened to me and suddenly I couldn't look into the sun.
It was 1:45 pm, very bright and you need a very clear mind
to handle it. Every little change can hamper your ability
to continue meditating, more than it does at sunrise.
Earlier on strange things happened. It felt like the sun shone into
my body and it was looking conscious at me. It was not only light.
I let it happen. Later a pain in my back arose.
From Vipassana I know how to observe the pain. I did both.
I had the sun, the awareness and the pain simultaneously.
Within 3-4 seconds the pain disappeared. With Vipassana only it would
have taken a whole week to dissolve the pain, but here
it was a matter of a few seconds!
Now I understand how it works. It doesn't matter if you use
the inner light or the outer one to erase blockades
or negativity, it is still the same light.
Question is, which is the bigger one. Which of course is the sun.
Nevertheless, I do both meditations because it is of help.
This is an exciting information for one or two to experiment.
But always with caution. If you do it wrong, some
frequencies get blocked and you see them in the afterglow.
So the afterglow is of the utmost importance; put your
hands on your eyes and wait till the afterglow disappears completely.
This is important to absorb the energy nevertheless,
since these are missing. To dissolve the blockades gradually
you need all frequencies to come in as they are,
in the white of the sun. Not the way you want them,
but how they are naturally. Then there will be no problems.
And blockades are maladjusted balance between the elements.
More things happened. If you believe it or not,
I wouldn't believe it myself: but I usually practise at noon.
I use to call the ultraviolet rays "love-rays".
I feel that more intensive, since the UV rays are
pure energy and love. Question is, how much can you absorb.
If you are full of negativity you'll sink like a captain
with his ship. You will have pains and problems.
But if you let it happen with a clear mind, only cleaning,
balancing and harmonising will be the result.
You will get a peaceful mind, positive emotions and a healthy body.
I recommend to everybody to give it a try.
That's for those who want to know more.
But there is no need to. If you have a particularly
clear mind you will see geometrical forms in the afterglow.
Triangles, squares, circles or elongated things.
They are sharp edged and visible. And these forms represent
elements which are being balanced in your body at this moment.
I wouldn't interfere since the sun knows the big shadows inside you.
But if you want to change something in your life on purpose,
like a feeling, bodily defects, try putting both into your attention.
That's what I am testing. Like if you have a pain
in the knee, feel it while looking at the sun.
The same goes for feelings by which you are constrained and which you
want to change, like sadness or anger.
If you want clarity, freedom or else instead, then
feel them while looking at the sun. While doing this you will realize
that the sun appears brighter. Reason is that mental clouds,
shadows turn in front of the sun, but you will then feel how
these clouds dissolve. First it will be harder to look at than
it would be with a clear mind; so start slowly.
This is a way to change things on purpose. I recommend letting it happen at first
and let the sun do. That's where we stem from, that's the
origin of all life. Have trust that everything that is happening has
it's reason and is harmonic.
Who wants to get further than
it is possible with Sungazing, and experience shows that Sungazing
is not sufficient to reach breatharianism. That does not mean to stop it,
since it has many good effects, like a clear mind, more joy and health
and also that one has to eat and maybe sleep less.
Sunyogi explained that sleeping, eating and shivering are connected.
The desire to eat seems the first to disappear. I only
eat 10-20% of what I used to eat two years ago.
At times, when I have to solve worldly problems, it climbs up to 30%.
And I don't lose weight but have a better sleep with clearer dreams.
Dreams happen less than before, but when they do they have
a meaning, which I am convinced.
For those who want to further, breatharianism is a complete side-effect.
What really happens is, that you eliminate the shadows of your
thinking which drain energy. The same happens with the shadows
of your feelings, all negativity.
And bodily defects get erased, too.
First everything gets harmonised, body, mind and soul,
till it is the way it is meant to be.
So when energy is no longer needed for those worldly matters,
this energy can be used for different things.
That's when the crazy things begin, like being more clairvoyant and intuitive.
Or that you eat less or nothing at all.
Or you listen to people who are talking in a foreign language
but nevertheless you know what they are saying.
Perhaps not in detail, but you get some emotions
and pictures and you know what they are talking about.
Or you have precognitions and intuitive impulses to act
in a certain way. And you are less distracted from
doing what your intuition tells you to do.
This will increase. And it influences others.
A friend of mine once said, "I had so many questions
and problems bothering me, but then you came and
suddenly I felt relaxed and everything was solved".
"Well," I said, " that's what it should be."
She thought she needed the answers to gain clarity
and to solve her problems.
She couldn't believe it was possible to start with the clearance.
The basis of every powerful technique is the clearance of the mind.
And to get a clear mind is the same as getting a holy spirit.
Jesus said, the holy spirit will teach you everything.
And I agree with this. You look at things with
a clear mind and then you are able to understand them.
And it's only then that you are able to understand things.
But this is the beginning. Later, when the brain, the organs
and the body have more energy than they need, siddhis or
supernatural abilities are possible.
They are not really supernatural but happen to everyone
with an overdose of energy. Where this energy comes from
is not relevant. So I try to get rid of energy killers.
The so called "Mother" of Sri Aurobindo ashram was once asked why
she is so full of energy despite all her workload in organising and managing.
She said, ”Stop wasting energy and the same will happen to you”.
All the negative thoughts drain energy. When you stop this, you will have
more than enough of it. Techniques like Vipassana, Sungazing and Sunyoga
enhance this process. A side-effect is that you need less sleep and food.
If you want to go to the top, like Sunyogi did, you
won't need food, beverages or sleep. You won't feel cold as well.
He was at minus 45 degrees in the Himalayas, bare feet,
with two cloths as clothing and he didn't freeze. This is
because you are above the elements at this stage and hence
not affected by them.
Prior you are subordinated and the elements have an effect.
Later it is the other way around. He said it is
possible for everybody to reach this stage. He tested
it himself, being a scientist, he is an engineer,
and it is good, when you deal with spirituality that
you know the other side. Unlike many others who just
have crazy thoughts. After not eating, sleeping and drinking
for 12 years he started again, since he realized that most people
misunderstood Sunyoga as a mean to diet. Which it is not!
Sunyoga is about enlightenment and self-awareness and everything else
are side-effects. It leads to a blind end to concentrate
on them. I know he doesn't need to eat, but to show
that enlightenment is possible for everybody, he started again.
It is not necessary to achieve these things to
become enlightened. You can eat and still become enlightened.
But you can stop eating, if you want to, and it,
of course, gives those who are doing it more freedom.
At the last seminar he demonstrated
things, he usually don't. If the mind is very calm
the breath will come to a halt, the next step is that also
your pulse comes to a halt. He said it is a normal reaction
when your mind is calm that your pulse stops. But you won't die.
It is a sort of dying, since parts of your ego die.
He demonstrated this at the last course.
On his left was a nurse and on his right an engineer
feeling his pulse. And he stopped his pulse two times for 30 seconds.
This is usually not possible.
He wanted to demonstrate that it is possible to do this
on purpose. It is pre-enlightenment. But the aim is to hold this
as long as possible. 0:25:00.000,0:25:05.000 Of course, people practising Sunyoga won't feel hunger or thirst for a day,
or that wild animals will behave friendly, which is a very high stage.
A bird sat on the finger
of a friend, which you can watch in the user-area
on www.sungazing.de. Once I pet a wild mouse. Seemed strange
to me that a mouse didn't run away.
Another friend pet a deer while Sungazing.
These things happen. But the aim is that this
is a permanent state and not only momentous and that
you know how to reach it.
He is the living proof for all the effects that are
possible and so we will be.
There are many yet, who are at his stage. But unlike him
they are not travelling the world and teaching.
They just enjoy themselves. Those who are breatharians already
know that it can be stressful when people get hold of it
who doubt everything and want to destroy it.
You can save yourself this stress and be silent about your achievements.
Those who want to talk about it out of enthusiasm will see what
will happen. For people who are living a normal life this is crazy
and they will try to bring you back to "normal" life.
If they are successful is up to you.
I think this report was exciting for you.
I usually practise at noon for 15-30 minutes, sometimes longer,
depending how it suits me. I am not dependent on the sunshine.
That's the advantage of Sunyoga. There are even methods to practise
it without looking at the sun, for those who have fear
to damage their retina. I still like looking into
it and my eyesight is still good. I will test
it again soon at an eye specialist to have
it documented. Otherwise it gets too crazy if you
just believe it without evidence. That's my advice to everybody,
be alert and check it up regularly. You only
have this pair of eyes and when they're gone,
they're gone. Hence you should never practise Sunyoga without the guidance
of someone who is experienced. It needn't be Sunyogi himself,
an experienced user is sufficient. We take no responsibility if
someone thinks he must learn it quickly just to swank
with siddhis. It always backfires. It is not about showmanship
but to get rid of the ego.
I hope it was useful and I like any commentaries and when
there is more to summarize I will make a new report.
I'd be happy if I won't be the only one to report his
experiences. There are so many users, but many of them don't want
to go into public, out of different reasons. But I'd be glad if
others will tell about their experiences too. Also to make clear that this
is nothing dangerous if practised correctly according to instructions.
Have fun with it. Until next time.
