Previously on Heroes of Might and Magic 2
we were scrambling for gems,
retaking our gem mine multiple times
and finally deciding to trade for them at the depot
which we will do right now.
And let's go through all the different resources
which we can and WILL trade for gems.
We've started with ore...
80 units of wood go next,
Some mercury,
let's say - 10 units of it...
Some crystals,
let's say - 15 of them...
Even more mercury,
about 10 more units...
Some sulphur,
let's say - 10 units...
This should be sufficient :).
Now let's go to Corackston...
Indeed it is.
Let's finally build the Cloud Castle...
A single giant is available,
that's great...
Now let's leave...
and send Sarakin here.
And now let's end the turn.
The necromancers "visit" the leprechaun
under the mushrooms,
now he's GONE.
I'll leave his gruesome fate to your imagination...
Let's send Kalindra to the windmill...
Sarakin to Corackston...
Then go there ourselves
and recruit what we can,
starting with the halflings.
Let's get all 18 of them,
4 archmages,
and a single roc,
we've out of funds,
so let's leave the castle
and end the turn.
Let's reinforce Sarakin's army
with the castle's defenders;
and now let's check the well.
OK, I KNOW there is a giant there
but we're not going to recruit him;
as much as you'd want to ;P...
Upgrading them to titans
is one of the most painfully expensive things
in the entire game,
so - NO.
Also, as you can see -
we've recruited 4 more rocs
and two more steel golems.
Rrrrrright,
we were supposed to limit our harassment
of the windmill keeper
to once a week,
I'll try to remember that...
Let them trade armies once again...
Well, to be fair, that's not really "trading"
it's simply Kalindra giving Sarakin
all the troops that she has...
Oh and I WILL give Sarakin the boars.
I mean - I know the archers are a great unit,
no doubt about it,
but... I simply can't replenish their ranks, so...
Also - the endless pile of wood goes to Kalindra.
And... that's it.
Let's... end the turn.
OK, let's send KALINDRA to CORACKSTON D: ...
and recruit the last remaining troops.
That'll be 4 steel golems
and 8 boars...
Let's move them to Kalindra's army...
I KNOW I need the gems
to get the upgrade to the Cloud Castle
but it would be SO nice
to have Mage Guild at level 4.
Decisions. They are hard :(.
OK, let's transfer the last remaining troops...
8 boars and 4 steel golems, yeah, yeah...
Let's send Kalindra back
and let's send Sarakin
where no blue hero has gone before !
We'll start
by visiting the leprechaun of the northern pass.
Let's end the turn...
Let's move Sarakin north,
where he's supposed to go...
Let's send Kalindra back to Corackston
and leave, since there's nothing we can do there...
Let's move her north, to the windmill;
I KNOW. Don't judge me.
Don't you dare judge me...
Let's briefly examine Sarakin.
If you want to have a closer look - just PAUSE.
Too late ;) !
The leprechaun gave me 5 gems,
that's exactly what I need :3.
Now let's send Kalindra to the windmill;
I KNOW, alright ?
I know.
I know...
Let's send Sarakin further on his way
through the northern ravine...
And... that concludes this turn.
The week of Condor ?
I have an uncanny, strange deja vu...
+1 to knowledge,
that's great...
We'll attack the rangers next
and we'll send Kalindra to the WINDMILL !
Surprising, isn't it ;) ?
2 units of sulphur...
And let's send her back to Corackston...
Speaking of which...
Let's recruit our precious archmages,
the cunning halflings,
the fierce rocs
and most of our clanking steel golems.
Now let's exit the castle
and end the turn.
Great,
now let's recruit the last 3 golems
and 8 boars as well, why not...
You and me both know why the 4 giants are left unrecruited
so let's leave it at that;
and let's actually move Kalindra
INTO Corackston...
And now that she's here, let's give her the new recruits,
let's reorganize them a bit...
Great, let's leave the castle now...
And let's send her north -
it is crucial that Sarakin receives his reinforcements
as early and as often as possible.
The rangers scatter in disarray.
Let's show them mercy,
visit the gazebo -
a 1000 points of XP,
no level-up...
We are amazingly close to a gold mine.
We shall capture it next turn...
Ah, sweet, precious gold $_$...
But let's not get distracted -
we have citadels to conquer
and heroes to kill...
Also, in hindsight,
it'll probably take Kalindra quite a while
to reach Sarakin,
since he moves further and further away with each turn...
Let's see who that hero is.
It's the legendary Crag Hack
but with that army - he's a pushover...
He's also way too far away for me to bother chasing him
so let's take over the crystal mine instead...
and go further west to the alchemist lab.
Meanwhile, Kalindra is on a collision course with Crag Hack,
let's see how that plays out...
It appears that Crag Hack heads west
to pursue Sarakin...
Well, that's splendid.
Let's take over the alchemist shop
and head...
northwards !
Huh !
Well, I'll leave a SMALL
margin of space between Kalindra and Crag Hack.
Not that she couldn't handle him, of course ;)...
And... we just lost the gold mine :[.
Oh well - "easy come, easy go", right ?
Let's take over the sawmill...
OK now, since we've reached the western edge of the map,
we should probably head north-east--
-ish...
Ooh, a mercenary camp -
one of those four wonderful stat-boosting buildings ^^...
And let's send Kalindra west...
We've just received +1 to attack...
And now, since I'm not really sure where we should go
let's cast "View Towns" :] !
See that orange necropolis to the north of us ?
That is where we shall go...
Predictably enough - a necromancer is barring our way.
Fortunately - I know how to fix that ;].
But first let's send Kalindra to the gazebo.
1000 points of XP... Level-up !
Scouting or Ballistics ? Scouting...
I'm going to need the extra information.
And since we're already here
let's try to retake the gold mine and end the turn.
3 necromancers ? No biggie.
The week of locusts ? Lovely...
Let's lay siege to the town of "Willow"...
4 vampires and 6 mummies ?
OK, then...
I'll play along...
Yeah, I know I shouldn't have let that archmage die.
Whatever. He shall be avenged.
Welcome to Willow :) !
We have some nice low level spells here
including Shield, Disrupting Ray and Mass Dispel.
We also have a lot of unrecruited troops.
And let's see how we fare compared to our enemies...
We have the most castles,
obviously...
and we have less heroes than the necros.
In short - we're doing pretty damn well.
Yup.
OK, just for the hell of it,
let's recruit some troops:
some vampire lords,
some royal mummies,
some mutant zombies
and some skeletons.
As much as your mind is blown right now, and some skeletons.
As much as your mind is blown right now,
we've just recruited EVERYTHING :O !
So let's go with the flow
and build a mausoleum, why not :3 ?
And recruit some liches !
OK,
now we can leave...
Oh, we still need to send Sarakin there
so he can learn the new spells
and regain the mana if he stays for the turn.
Now let's visit Corackston for a moment...
We do have enough gems to upgrade the Cloud Castle
but, for reasons unknown, we lack the gold ^^'...
Which makes conquering this gold mine again
all the more important...
I might scout north
but I'm afraid Kalindra might get hurt D:
so let's just send her west to meet up with Sarakin...
Oh, and while she's at it and since it's a new week
she might as well visit the leprechaun on her way there.
What should I do now ?
OK, since I've already recruited an army
to protect Willow, I might as well hunt down
the remaining necromancers.
Worst case scenario -
I'll have to retake the necropolis once again...
OK, let's end the turn...
Fortunately, the infighting between my enemies
makes the job a lot ea-
-sier -_-.
OK, I have to defend Willow with what I have...
On the bright side,
the catapult actually doesn't destroy ANYTHING.
It doesn't even DAMAGE anything :) !
I lose 2 vampire lords...
The castle's defenses fire at the enemy vampires,
that's wise. That's the only unit except the sprites
that can get through at this point.
Since, you know, they're the only enemy flying units...
A lightning bolt helps.
OK, let's try to attack the royal mummies.
OK - bad idea xD !
OK, now let's move the royal mummies
all the way down to defend the archliches,
our only ranged unit...
Let's kill some sprites...
And now the mutant zombies will join the royal mummies
in the defense of the liches...
Ouch :| !
Rrright, we can't cast anything yet...
1 vampire lord left;
this is not going well at all !
3 vampires left.
OK, now let's bolt the sprites...
Fair enough...
The sound effects in this game are just so hilarious xD !
Hooray for splash damage...
YES, the sprites are down
and the walls are unscathed,
as soon as we kill the vampires,
things will get AWESOME...
Speaking of which ^^'...
OK, I need some direct damage
on the rest of the opposing forces...
Well, 1 less mutant zombie's
better than nothing, right ?
Right D: ?
OK, we have no more skeletons...
Actually - we don't have much of anything.
OK - I'm screwed,
which is not very surprising, seeing how I have a single archlich left :\...
The castle towers are more effective at this point
but there are still a lot of troops to eliminate...
And by the way - that was the final magic arrow...
The liches are down...
0 spell points,
excellent x| !
OK - I'm doomed.
I've still managed to mow through most of the enemy troops though,
so Sarakin shouldn't have any trouble cleaning this up.
Especially since there are no troops left to recruit at Willow
and it's day 1.
OK, it's day 2 now.
It's time for some cleaning up...
This should be fun...
Let's see, now...
A lightning bolt on the skeletons...
Almost...
Let's attack the mutant zombies with the archmages...
ALMOST.
Ah, the towers...
They're more of a nuisance than a threat, actually...
Let's get rid of the zombies...
Total overkill.
That was actually helpful :].
And now for the final blow !
Willow is ours, 1792 XP,
Level-up ! Pathfinding or Mysticism ?
Pathfinding, on advanced,
obviously...
Now let's get rid of the remaining necromancers
before they cause any more trouble...
Ooh, 500 pieces of gold,
that's very nice of the leprechaun, very generous...
You know what ? We might as well send Kalindra
to visit the second one.
She's nearby anyway...
OK, we still need more gold
for that vital upgrade.
Let's end the turn...
The necromancer is out of reach,
so let's go east
and visit the shrine
to learn "Cure",
a nice spell.
And let's retake the gem mine.
Next turn we should have enough money
to upgrade the Cloud Castle
But for that - check part #5.
Bye, guys :3 !
