So, once the root canal is done; how do you take care of that tooth? You want to make
sure the root canal is taken care of. You want to make sure a post or a build-up and
a crown is placed on top of it and the seal is done nicely. Then, that tooth should be
treated like it?s a healthy, normal tooth. The tissue surrounding that root canal tooth
has live gum and bone. They have to be solid. Now, these gums around it and the bone structure
around here are all vital. The tooth is dead but the tissue that holds the tooth in there
are totally vital. So, you want to make sure that these areas stay healthy. You don't want
the gum to have gingivitis, which is basically a gum disease. By preventing the gum disease
you will want to go ahead and brush, floss, rinse, whatever necessary modes they obviously
can use in order to keep the gum healthy. If the gum stays healthy then the bone won't
change at all. The bone will stay healthy. If that's able to occur then this tooth will
have a very good longevity.
