In this video I want to show you how to run
the BOM Migration Wizard. In the Extraction Template video, I created
two extraction templates. These are the templates I plan to use the
BOM Migration wizard. So, I will click Continue.
I select the Project folder that I showed you in the Introduction video.
This list now shows the names of the files to be migrated.
I want the wizard to build the heirachy. So I select this check box.
I now select the Extraction Templates I created previously.
I select the Assembly Extraction template first.
Then the Part Extraction template This Icon tells me that this is an assembly
template. This, that it is a part template.
These check marks indicate that the templates contain drawng border and title block information.
These check marks indicate that this template contains parts list and balloon information.
Over here the same information is shown in textual form.
I am not going to touch anything on this page, so I click Next.
The wizard now wants to analyze the drawings to check how effectively they can be migrated.
It will then send the details of the analysis into this log file.
Let's inspect the Log File. In here the log file lists the names of the
drawings to be migrated. It also shows the name of the extraction template
and reference drawing that match each drawing. The section over here shows a tree.
This is the Hierarchy that the wizard will build.
I will close the log file and click Migrate. The files are migrated almost instantaneously.
Lets inspect one of the migrated drawings. For more information on how to run the migration
wizards, and the rules that govern the process, please refer to Help.
