It’s a beautiful day in Minnesota. Temperature right now is about 10°.
The sun is shining – it’s a great day!
Today we will be showing a little demonstration of three of the Taurus line of pistols.
Taurus doesn’t necessarily have the well-known name as a lot of other pistols, but they do
make a very high quality pistol at a reasonable price.
We’ll demonstrate three of those today for you.
The first one is part of their Millenium Pro line.
Millenium Pros are basically a polymer-framed, compact pistol.
The first one we’ll be firing is a PT140 - .40 cal, a polymer-framed, short barreled
compact, has a smaller grip more along the lines of a 9 mm, but the magazine capacity
is 10 rounds on it – very slim profile. One of the things about the Taurus line of
pistols is that they do have a manual safety in a conventional location.
We’ll run some rounds through it and give you an idea of what they look like.
This particular one has a 3-dot type of sight alignment – some of the later ones have
a stacked 2-dot. Anyway, we’ll run some rounds through this
and see how it does.
Like most semi-automatic pistols it does lock open on the last round fired.
Hope you enjoyed it – we’ll pull out a couple more and give them a whirl too.
The next pistol in the line-up is, there again, a Millenium Pro, this is a PT145, .45 cal.
Automatic. Here again it holds 10 rounds in the double-stack
magazine, which for a compact pistol is really pretty good.
The grip is a little larger on the PT145 than on the PT140, which actually I like better
– it fits my hand a little bit better. It’s got all of the similar type of controls
as any other semi-automatic. We’ll run some rounds through it and let
you see what it’s like too. Right now we’re running some 230 grain full
metal jacket – hardball ammo. It also runs, all of them, run really well
with hollow point and other defensive ammunition. I’ve found them to be very reliable pistols
– there again worthwhile of taking a look at to see how it might fit in with your budget
and your needs.
The third pistol that we’ll be taking a look at today is the Taurus 24/7 OSS.
There again it’s a polymer-framed pistol, larger format, 5 plus inch barrel; my understanding
was that these were originally designed by Taurus as a competitor for military trials.
So there again it’s got a manual safety on it – ambidextrous, pretty much all of
the other conventional types of operating features, does have a short PIC rail for accessories,
unlike some of their other ones. It does have a cocking indicator on the back
too – or a cocked indicator – right back here – when it’s cocked it shows red.
There again it uses a standard 24/7 magazine, 12 rounds, this is a .45 ACP pistol so it
holds 12 rounds of ammunition. Very accurate, very reliable.
This one obviously has the tan-colored frame – they also make a black and there may
be another color too – I’m just not sure. Anyhow, it’s got a 3-dot type of sighting
system and would be a good choice if you are looking for something along these lines.
We’ll run some rounds through it and let you see what you think.
There again, that’s the P, excuse me, the Taurus 24/7 OSS in .45 ACP. Thank you for
watching!
