J MAC: Hey, everyone.
I'm J Mac.
A very common question that we get here
at latemodelrestoration.com is how do you
replace your power window switches or power door locks
switches on an '87 and '93 Mustang.
That answer is very simple.
All you need is a Phillips head screwdriver
and small flat blade screwdriver,
and you've got a single Phillips head
screw on your switch plate.
You can pop it out of the way.
And then grab that small flat blade,
and you can carefully pry up on your switch plate
to remove it out of the arm rest.
Now on the back of your switch plate,
you've got two Phillips head screws
holding on the switch panel.
We'll get those out of the way.
And you can access your switches.
Now you may have to pull on your wiring harness a little bit
to get this much slack.
Sometimes the wiring harnesses talked a little bit
further down into the door.
Now on your switches, they all have locating tabs.
So you can know exactly how they go back in.
And if you take that small flat blade screwdriver,
you can simply pop it out of the switch plate.
Now our 50resto replacement power window switches
and power door locks switches, they are direct replacements
and are exact reproductions of the original,
even featuring the correct markings on the switch face.
And the install the same way as they remove.
You just pop it in the place.
Now you screw it all back together.
And you've got functioning switches again.
