It’s important to remove the core of the apple if you wish to cook it.
Remove the stem by turning and pulling.
Cut the apple in half.
Using a melon baller or Parisian scoop, remove the core.
Also remove the top and bottom of the apple with a single cut from the melon baller.
You can use an apple-corer to core whole apples or a round cutter for rings; otherwise, the melon baller is the perfect tool for quick efficient coring.
Keep in mind that peeled apples oxidize very quickly upon contact with air. If you have to wait to eat or cook them, it’s best to toss them with some lemon juice.
