Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we’re going to show you how to change the water
filter on your refrigerator. Really easy job; no tools required, maybe an old towel just
to catch some water. Let me show you how it’s done.
The first thing we should do before we change the filter is disable the icemaker; just lift
up on the shut off arm.
We can access the water filter on the refrigerator side at the rear; we need to unscrew the cover
it’s a standard right-hand thread. Chances are there may be a little bit of residual
water in there so just take an old towel or rag to catch anything that might spill. Unthread
the cover completely and discard any water that may be remaining in here, clean that
out.
Reach in and pull down on the old filter; discard that.
Take our new filter, press it into place, it should stay in by itself. And then we simply
replace the cover.
Now if your model refrigerator has a filter status button on it you’ll want to follow
the manufacturer’s instructions: press and hold that until it resets itself. You should
also run about three minutes worth of water through your dispenser just to condition the
filter. And your repair is complete.
Easy job wasn’t it? Thanks for watching, and good luck with your repair.
