MICHAEL LEWIS: Michael Lewis here with Christian Martial Arts. On behalf of Expert Village,
we are here to talk today about executing an outboard wristlock. Now, an outboard wristlock
from a cross grab. If he takes his right hand and grabs my right hand, that makes it into
a cross grab. Now, in order to get an outboard wristlock from this position, I cannot rotate
with my palm facing myself. Instead, I have to rotate the other direction, palm facing
outwards. As I do, I am still pushing up against his thumb and he is releasing his grip as
you can see. But I am also taking my left hand, placing fingers on the palm, thumb on
the back and pushing out, then, again, taking my right hand, supporting, and then pushing
over in towards his shoulder and then over towards the outside of his body. If you do
just one technique, just pushing in towards the shoulder, it is not going to be as effective.
And if you just twist, it won't quite be as effective. You still won't get his body motion
moving in one direction. But if you push in and over, you can see how his body begins
to tilt. And again, that is very important because your wristlock would not be your final
technique. You can also add on throws and other armbar techniques to the end of that.
