In this clip, we're going to show how to stick together the foot taper and the sail. This
here is a properly done finished foot taper. You can see the curve in the cloth. The next
step on this seam is to put our seam tape down. I'll tape right along the edge of the
line we just drew with the curve. To get the proper seam length, we'll trim the cloth off
of the edge of the tape.
The tape that I use is called Venture Tape. It's a very sticky, double-sided seam tape,
with a peel off carrier. So, for a sail like this, it'll use about one roll of tape by
the time we've stuck all the corner patches and stuck all the seams. To the right of the
screen is the tack, to the left of the screen is the clew. And you can see this is the curve
we've just drawn. This was the straight line that we drew in the previous segment, so you
can see our curve. I have some push pins in the cloth holding it in place and I'm going
to pull the tape and we're going to stick this curve together. It's important to stick
the cloth very smoothly. It's a little bit difficult to do because there's a lot of shape
in this seam for a very, very short seam length. You may end up with some small puckers like
we have here and that's okay. Those will fade away a little bit as we seam it.
