>>Theobald I've been a faculty member at Indiana University for 20 years. I was a faculty member
at the University of Washington in Seattle. That's where I went through tenure.
>>Professor The public sessions are useful. You know you do get to ask questions. What's
your vision in terms of moving Temple forward? He seemed to answer pretty fully and it was
a good session. >>Theobald One of the two or three greatest
attractions of coming here is the City of Philadelphia for me and my wife.
>>Student He struck me as a really open and personable individual and that's really great
you know especially for your President. >>Theobald What are the issues? What are you
all thinking I should be focused on, thinking about?
>>Student It's great that faculty, staff and students, as well, have been able to talk
to him and ask him questions and really get engaged with the new President coming in this
year. [applause]
>>O'Connor Here he is. Our President-elect, Neil Theobald, 10th President of Temple University.
>>Theobald My wife and I are both first-generation college students which is the mission of Temple
University. For us to be able to continue that for another generation of Temple students
to give the same opportunities to change our lives , as this University has been doing
for over 125 years, it is a dream-of-a-lifetime to be able to come here.
