Planning your QTAC application during Grade 12 can seem a little daunting. By ordering
your 6 preferences wisely, you can give yourself the best shot at achieving your goals
Firstly you need to be aware of entry scores and subject pre-requisites, it's important
to be actively comparing your preferred uni study options with your projected OP or rank
Think big on your first two preferences. By listing your dream programs first-up, you
might open the door to a world of possibilities
Your 3rd and 4th preferences should be your backup plan. Be sure to list programs that
are realistic for you
Your final two preferences are still important to your application and are your 'foot in
the door' options. Think about other areas of study that you are passionate about
With plenty of options for degree upgrades, not getting your first preference is never
the end of the world. Many first year students choose an alternate program at UQ that enriches
their future studies
My top tip is to start planning early. Be aware of key dates, do some research by reading
the QTAC guide and avoid stress by taking control of your future study options early.
