Steve: Hi, its Steve from PartSelect, today we are going to show how to change the external
light bulb on your over the range microwave, it’s a pretty easy job, all we are going
to need is a Philips screwdriver, maybe a utility knife or possibly some dental floss,
let me show you how we do it.
Now to access the exterior light bulb, we need to remove this cover, now we’ve taken
this unit and laid it on it’s back, but you’ll be able to do this with the microwave
still installed, now if the bulb has not been changed before, it’s probably held in place
with some silicone which you’ll need to cut that away from the bulb, so for that you
should disconnect the power, so find the source and pull the plug from it.
Next we’ll remove a single Philips screw, now that door will hinge down, and typically
will stay out of your way, but if you slide it a little bit towards the center, you can
actually lift it out of the opening.
And our bulb is right there, now often the silicone is on the back side of that bulb,
but you can’t reach with a knife, so we normally just take a piece of dental floss,
and behind that bulb gently cut away up through that silicone.
Remove the old bulb, and take our new bulb, slide it into the socket, try not to over
tighten it, this seems nice and snug, reinstall the diffuser and rotate it over into place,
and replace the screw.
Now we are ready to reconnect the power, and our repair is complete.
We told you it was an easy job, thanks for watching, and good luck with your repair.
