we're currently living in a country split between the one-percent and the
ninety nine percent or at least that's the common media narrative
and a lot of people that would defend the one-percent in this narrative say
that the ninety nine percent are primarily driven by jealousy that
they're just jealous of the money of the one percent of luxury that they live in
and we have an interesting story today
that actually provides a bit of evidence
for that narrative
it has to do with any recent tumbler cal a blog by name the cars of george
washington university
and the purpose of this time work out
is to go around for george washington university campus in foggy bottom d_c_
and to post photos of all of the high end and luxury cars that the uh...
the blogger scenes
driven by students
uh... it's only been around for about a week is started on february sixteenth
roots are deep already gathered nearly two dozen photos of extremely expensive
sports cars and luxury cars
we'll show you a few pictures of that right now according to our source on
this article
some of the car scary price tags as much as three hundred twenty thousand all the
way up to five hundred and forty eight thousand dollars environment is our
student cars and a faculty german cars although that
it by itself would be pretty impressive it's important to bear in mind the
george washington use actually a pretty expensive school to attend
partially because the cost of living in d_c_ but also because of
uh... tuition and all of that
uh... apparently in two thousand seven to have the highest cost of attendance
in the country uh... although that's no longer the case i'm sure it's still
pretty high up there
so the question is who do i approve of this is it a good thing
that this blog exists
uh... i think that any of us who've gone to college have notice from time to time
that no matter where you going to have to be g_w_
aren't there are some cars that don't quite seem to fit in among about civic
centralize
uh... in my personal case it was up to mister briese uh... apprentice along
even around
you'll find the occasional extremely nice car or cellist motorcycle i can u
dot on motorcycles ecology for quite a while and there are a few extremely
expensive sportbikes a harley davidson's it is easy to see that and get obit
jealous or jelly
as and i would say
uh... so it's really funny at you know to go around and point this al uh... in
the current political climate that were in as an engine earlier
it might still calill bit of resentment
uh... buddy is mostly jealousy i mean whether or not these cars are being
bought by family as i'm sure almost all of them are
i mean would you turn them down if you were offered an extremely nice car i'd
personally think that it's kind of a bad thing
to have extremely luxurious cars early
and my reason for that but i've always believed is
if you start off with your first car being extremely nice
how are you ever gonna go out there and buy something for yourself that you're
actually going to enjoy when you started off so high the expectations are gonna
be hard to match
later on in life so again not a super important story objects interesting it's
garnering a lot of attention online and i'm interested to see what you all think
about this i'm sure that you've experienced a bit of this at your own
campus in a seeing these cars they clearly don't fit in with the others
around
so let me know what you think about that
and thanks for watching
