The hospital was named after Dr. Ahmed Al Ftaiyeh,
who, together with nurse Barjas Al Othman, were killed by the regime,
in the first year of the revolution,
after contributing to the foundation of the Free Doctors' Union,
and participating in relieving inflicted regions,
in Baba Amr, Moudamiyah and others.
Doctors are still working despite being targeted,
and the need for them increases as much as their resources become less,
under the severe blockade.
It is very difficult to have a wounded child,
who has been treated with available resources, and still needs lots of operations.
A wounded is a wounded whether a civilian or a fighter.
The need for medication, Oxygen and water never stops.
Doctors are fighting at an open and restless front even when battles stop.
Operations are carried when need arises,
either at the hospital of the Martyr Al Mihrab,
or at Ahmed Al Ftaiyeh hospital.
We also have a care unit where patients are received if they need that,
especially after operations.
According to international reports,
the Syrian regime has killed hundreds of doctors,
and it is imposing a siege and targeting them, while Humanitarian Organizations let them down.
They keep wondering what is the International Community's excuse regarding hospitals' siege,
as even at front lines,
doctors are supposedly allowed to work,
and should have their medical requirements,
but this does not make them stop working.
