Happy 4th of July everyone and welcome to another episode from TastySauces.com.
I'm your host Billy D and
today to celebrate the Fourth of July we're doing two All American classics. We got
Dr. Pepper
and A&W Root Beer except we are trying the barbecue sauces today.
So let's go ahead and take a little look at these guys
So the Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce as far as the ingredients, it has got
corn syrup, water, tomato paste, vinegar,
molasses, salt, starch, spices
It's got apple, pear, and grape concentrate,
some smoke flavor and a few other things.
It should be a little interesting stuff right here.
Let's go ahead and give it the smell test.
Yeah, it has definitely got that Dr. Pepper smell to it.
It is a little sweet
has got some sweetness to it
It's a medium consistency, not to thick and not to thin.
It is actually really good I was kind of
wondering how this would play out with Dr. Pepper in bbq sauce but
the sweetness goes really well with it.
You get a hint of just a little smoke flavoring
I am a little surprised on that one.
I'm going to give this one a 4.5 out of 5, very good stuff.
As far as the heat level/ spiciness, it's relatively mild and would give it a 1 on that.
Definitely very taste stuff if you like a little smokiness and sweetness in your barbecue sauce.
Now moving on down the road we got the A & W Root Beer Classic right here.
This stuff kind of reminds me of when I was a kid going to
the public pool and getting to pick my drink out of the machine.
I always fell for this one.
Now as far as ingredients, they got
corn syrup, tomato paste, vinegar,
looks like pretty much all the same stuff with the main difference being the root beer flavor.
It has the same sort of smell but not as sweet as the
Dr. Pepper.
About the same consistency
yum, it's not bad either.
pretty good
The Dr. Pepper has a little more pronounced flavor on this
but that is not bad either.
i think the Dr. Pepper definitely edges it out a little bit.
This one, I will give it a 4 on the 5 star rating.
As far as the spicy level/heat level,
I give it a 1 as well so
Dr. Pepper won today. I want to thank you guys for watching this 4th of July Episode.
Make sure and stay tuned to the end as we got a little fireworks for you guys and
can't wait to talk to you guys later. Bye.
