September 10 1950, Born on this day, Joe Perry. Outside of his outstanding contributions to
rock music, Joe also founded the Rock Stars of Science mission, which recognizes the importance
of encouraging the next generation to pursue science as a career choice because it's simply
"cool" and to bring awareness for the need to make funding scientific research a national
priority. Happy Birthday to one of rock's class acts!
September 11 1963: Elvis Presley finishes work on his 15th film, Viva Las Vegas.

after a new location to move it to was agreed at the last minute. The James Marshall Hendrix
