Chances are you probably know someone who has had a stroke.
We'll show you how to recognize a stroke when it happens and how to take action on this
Project Health [music]
Strokes are the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S. and can happen to anyone at any
time. Being able to know the symptoms and take action
can save a life. A stroke is a brain attack. It's caused by
lack of blood flow to the brain. A simple way to remember the most common signs
of a stroke is to think "FAST". F is for facial drooping.
A is arm weakness or numbness. S is for speech. Is it slurred?
T is for time. Most important -- time to call 9-1-1 immediately.
More than eighty percent of all strokes can be prevented by working with a health care
professional. To learn more about strokes, go to pennstatehershey
