Hi. Welcome to Everett Community College's ABE/GED Program.
My name is Gina Myers and I am the counselor/advisor
for Basic Skills and Adult Education.
My role is to help you be successful in school
and to help you work toward your educational goals.
Our Adult Education classes build on basic skills
that eventually lead to GED prep or the taking of your GED.
There are many reasons you may be attending
Everett Community College at this time.
For some of you this is your first time back in a very long time.
Many of you have had detours in your school journey.
You may have missed a lot of school,
had trouble learning, or dropped out.
Whatever the reason we are so glad you're back.
Some of you may be working, looking for work,
hoping to build skills for a better job
or pursuing a career move to college-level
for certification, a two or four year degree
I'm here to assist you in reaching your educational and
career goals with counseling and advising.
Most of you lead busy lives
and life is happening while you're in school.
Sometimes life can interfere with your ability to do your best.
Balancing of school and family
and financial responsibilities can get complicated.
I'm here to help you with personal issues that may interfere
with your achieving your school goals.
I'm a licensed mental health counselor trained to help you.
All conversations are confidential
except in circumstances that involves safety.
So again welcome to Everett Community College.
We are so pleased that you are here.
