Hello again, it's Sam from ComputerTV
and today I'm going to be telling you about another Olympus.
This is the Olympus Stylus 550WP. Now you're probably wondering
what in the world does WP stand for, and I'm going to tell you.
It's waterproof. Ok definitely doesn't take a genius
to figure that one out but look at this camera.
It is so sleek and so cool looking, and it's waterproof.
When I picture waterproof camera I think like big clunky plastic
and this is like the complete opposite and this camera can go underwater
up to 10 feet alright? So that's a pretty deep swimming pool,
not too deep in the ocean but hey, it's enough to see pretty crabs
and moving things in the sand. Alright so this is a perfect camera
if you like to scuba-dive, snorkel, if you're going on a beach trip
you know it's very durable, it can take you know, being in the sand.
It's a great great camera. Ok it's a 10 megapixel,
3x optical, 4x digital, completely waterproof up to 10 feet.
It's very sporty looking if you ask me.
Now this camera comes complete with face detection,
has digital image stabilization
which I'm not sure if you guys have heard of this,
basically makes sure that everybody in the image is in focus,
that it has good exposure and if you're somewhere rocky
it makes sure that the camera is steady.
The camera does all the work for you which is really nice.
It also has this thing called perfect fix
which is one touch editing for red eye, shadows,
editing, resizing. Now this camera comes equipped
with 18 different shooting modes including movie mode,
rechargeable batteries and it takes xD or microSD cards ok?
So that's important to know and I'm going to turn it over.
You're going to see it has a 2.5 inch LCD screen.
I'm going to power it on right now and we'll give you a tour
around this bad boy. So again here's the back, the LCD screen.
Up top you have your shutter release, your on and off button
and moving along to these buttons
you have your wide and your tight and I'll show you,
well you can't really see it actually because it's all internal
so sorry about that. You have your display button,
a couple of different display options here
including your shooting grid. You have your playback button,
your shooting mode selector, menu button, your trash button.
This is your OK/Function button, also your shortcut menu
and then you have a couple of dedicated buttons
along the OK button for flash, exposure, macro mode
and your timer. And underneath you'll see right here
this is for your rechargeable battery, also your xD and your microSD card,
and then you have your tripod holder right here
and then on the side, I'm going to open up this latch
and you'll see this is your mini-USB port.
Hook it up to your PC and make sure
all that your pictures and video actually see the light of day
when you upload them to YouTube or Facebook
or whatever photo-sharing site you like.
Ok so let's get into this lovely waterproof digital camera.
Alright so I'm going to take a picture now
so we can play with it later.
Alright there you go. Point and shoot baby,
this is a point and shoot camera. It's really that easy.
Ok so let's go into the different modes now.
Right now we are in P mode, this is also program mode.
Now if you go into menu once you're in P mode
you'll see when you hit the OK button
you have a couple of different options.
You can change your ISO, this is ISO capabilities up to 1600.
You can go down to Panorama and this is pretty cool
especially if you're going somewhere that has really pretty scenery.
You can take a couple of shots and Panorama pastes them all together
and so you can have this 360 view of wherever you are
and you can share that with family, friends.
And you have face detection. So face detection is off right now
and we're going to turn it on because it's a really cool feature.
This has face detection up to, let's see how many people,
12 people, has face detection up to 12 people.
Every camera is different so that means 12 people can be in the shot
and they will be perfectly centered, you know in perfect exposure,
the camera really you know, sets all the settings for you.
You don't have to worry about people coming out
looking like you know, one person looks good,
one person looks bad. Everyone will look good
with face detection. Ok so let's get out of here,
let's go to another mode, shall we?
Let's go to, this is your digital image stabilization mode
so if you're somewhere where it's rocky
the camera will help you make sure everything is in focus
and that's really really good. Let's say you have a shaky hand
which you know, when you're on a trip and you're taking so many pictures
that can happen, this will help you.
Alright scene mode. Alright so you have a lot of different scenes
to choose from, actually 18 of them in total.
We'll go through them, you have portrait,
landscape, night time, night portraits, sports,
there are, I mean there is a scene for everything practically.
Fireworks so bring this out on Fourth of July,
documents and you have underwater snapshots.
Remember this can go underwater. Ok so let's get out of here,
let's go to another mode, this is movie mode.
Ok so movie mode is pretty cool, we'll go into the,
this is your shortcut menu ok? So here you can white balance,
and we'll scroll down and here you can set the size
to QVGA which is 320 by 240 or VGA which is 640 by 480
which is the higher resolution. And also your frames per second,
you have 30 or you also have the choice of 15
so just depends how big you want your movie,
what you're going to do with it, etc.
Alright so let's get out of here,
that's pretty much movie mode right there and let's go into iAuto.
iAuto is for people who don't want to think
when they're taking pictures, they just want to make sure
that they capture the right moment and iAuto will do that for you.
It has a memory, an internal memory
of all these different scenes and it will automatically choose
which scene works best for your shot.
Ok it's like having a professional photographer
with you at all times, it's fantastic.
Alright so let's get out of here and let's go back to playback, ok?
Where's playback? Right here, alright. So playback,
this is how you can scroll through, see all the pictures you took
and reminisce about your fabulous trip.
And if you go into menu, oh there's menu.
If you go into menu you have a couple different options here.
If you go into editing you'll see you can crop
and you can resize without having to hook up to a PC, that's nice.
And we'll exit out of here, go back to menu
and we'll scroll over to the perfect fix.
This is what I was talking to you guys about.
You can fix your lighting and red eye
so you can remove all those nasty shadows.
I actually have a friend who always gets red eye
in every single picture she takes, she would love this camera
because it's that easy to fix red eye. Alright so let's get out of here.
There's a couple of different settings that I want to show you also.
You can hook up to a PoGo printer and print your photos.
Also if you go into setup there's even more ways to customize
your lovely camera. See all these different things, very cool.
Ok I think we're all done, I hope you guys enjoyed
this is the Olympus Underwater Stylus 550
and if I ever go on a tropical island escape
I will make sure to bring this camera with me,
I just have to convince the powers that be
to let me borrow it because it's pretty cool.
