Bro, I ran to the J.O. in like under 4 minutes today. It was pretty epic.
Four minutes? That's like not even a mile, I could probably do that in like three.
Dude it's like over eight tenths of a mile in under four minutes. I'm like an olympic sprinter practically.
You're a lot faster than you think you are, I don't think you can run that fast man I used to run it in like-
You don't even make sense right now, I am faster than you think I am.
Well I don't think you're that fast so...
I guarantee I can beat you in a race. All you do is sit here, eat popsicles and watch movies all day.
That's all I need to do it's all mental anyway. Seriously though.
Dude you can't just run, you have to be in shape.
I'm built for running like you don't understand, it's like ninety percent mental anyway.
Well I'm built for winning
Alright well we're gonna have to race cause I can't take your cockiness anymore.
It's on!
Narrator: Dude, are you really gonna do this? It's kind of ridiculous.
Dude you know I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna win too. I'm gonna stomp on Mike's throat and I'm gonna win for sure.
That's kind of violent, is that just how you are?
Yeah that's how I am! I always compete in everything I do and I've always gotta win. I mean you're looking at a three sport athlete in high school right here.
Narrator: Alright dude how's it feel like not having that level of competition anymore?
Man it kills me. Like I just feel like I'm filling that void in other areas of my life that most people wouldn't compete in. Like I find myself rushing to brush my teeth to beat people
And just brushing our teeth, or like racing upstairs when they don't even know we're racing!
Narrator: Yeah, that's pretty annoying.
Yeah, like I'm just like: I'm gonna beat this guy! Or when I'm at the J.O., I see all these bros and I'm like yeah I can take them, you know I'm better than them, I got this.
Narrator: So Mike, tell me a little bit about your athletic exploits.
In high school I played tennis on the varsity team for three years, I was a two year captain, I'm on the scoring record for career wins at Strongsville High School.
Soccer, I played varsity for a couple years. Our team was ranked about ninth in the midwest when I was playing, and yeah, that's it.
Narrator: Do you miss it? What's it like not competing and just being a guy?
I mean you play, I played with the same group of kids in high school coming from about fourth grade all the way to high school
And not having it in your life kind of changes you, you just go through all these years and then you stop and you just..I don't really know what to do anymore, it's kind of part of you.
You kind of lose a little bit of yourself when you stop playing.
Narrator: What you doing dude?
Stretching out, about to train. Gotta get in top shape.
Narrator: Understandable. You going to the J.O.?
Obviously going to the J.O. That's where real athletes train. That's where the real competitors are.
And that's the only thing I mess with.
Narrator: Alright dude, good to know. We'll see you in a few hours.
I'm gonna hit the gym now.
