This weekend we are going to be having a taste off that is between two of the most exciting
Sauvignons to come out of New Zealand since cloudy bay in fact they are actually related
to cloudy bay First up Dog Point these are the boys were
originally cloudy bay they sold it up to LVH who are fantastic at making handbags and marketing
but all the real grape juice that used to be in cloudy bay is in hear and they will
up against the mighty greywacke Greywacke is actually made by Kevin Judd the
ex wine maker of Cloudy Bay as well I’ve got them both in the machine lets give them
a try first up Dog Point it’s the 2008 vintage that lovely ripe nose a bit fuller in style
the French call that sort of metta mouth feel it feels delicious in the mouth coats your
mouth loads of fresh green tropical fruit Lets try the greywacke greywacke of course
2010 a little fresher a bit more vibrant my word it is just that loads of expressive fruit
coming on the nose on the pallet gorgeous a bit more zingy acidity lovely long complex
finish that is cracking
