Today I'm going to show you how to have fabulous
second-day hair.
Whether you're like me, and you color your hair too much and
it's really dry, and so you want to put it in a shower cap so you
don't have to wash it every day, or whether you wake up late and
you just don't have time to wash it, or if you're just someone
with oily hair and you want to go from work out and you need
a way to get a quick style, to give your hair a little oomph,
then these tips will work for all of those scenarios.
First, what you want to start with is a dry shampoo.
I love dry shampoos, they're my new best friend.
Today I'll be using the Fekkai All Natural Dry Shampoo.
So what I do with this is I kind of where my part is, I'll just
kind of pour that dry shampoo like right down in the part.
You can see it's like little white powder, and then I'll
kind of just separate, almost like I am coloring my hair.
Kind of separate over, just so you get --
and this also adds a little volume to your hair,
because it's getting rid of any excess oil.
So kind of just separate a couple places in your root,
and then just kind of rub that in.
You don't want to see any of that white powder left in your
hair, so just really make sure to rub that into your root,
and then what I do is I'm going to just go ahead and give you
a quick way to curl your hair really fast, so that it looks
like you're really finished, but it didn't take a ton of time.
So what I like to do, when I curl my hair,
is I section my hair into three different sections.
So I'm going to go ahead and take the bottom third of my
hair, and I'll just kind of take the rest of this up and pin it.
You can clip it, put a hair tie in it, whatever you want to do.
So make sure you comb through it first, because your hair's
probably tangled if you just woke up.
The key is not trying to be too perfect about the curls,
because they're not going to all look the same.
So what you do is I take an inch curling iron.
If your hair's a little longer than mine, you can go up to
about an inch and a fourth, an inch and a half.
If it's a little shorter than mine, you might want to go down
to three-fourths of an inch, or stick with an inch.
That's just going to give you -- the bigger the curling iron,
the bigger the curl, so kind of whatever look you're going for,
that's what you'll want to do.
So now, I'm going to go big sections, so I take this hair
and break it into about three sections.
Now the key here is to curl backwards.
So right here, what you're going to do is
you're going to turn it once -- this is another helpful hint --
hold on this first curl for a couple seconds.
That's going to really help give that bend in the curl.
And then after a couple seconds, loosen the grip up
and finish curling your hair.
Hold it for a couple seconds, and let it fall.
A lot of people just focus on, if they think the curl didn't
curl enough, or if it didn't get the exact same curl shape as
the last one, but don't worry about that, because at the end,
you're going to kind of brush them out and give them that
loose curl look that's kind of popular right now.
So once you get the hang of it, it's only going to take you
like five or ten minutes to do your whole head.
So today I'm going to be using the Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray.
This is an aerosol, but you can use whatever hairspray you like.
So what I do is I kind of just lift up the layers,
spray a little hairspray, and then this is me personally, but
I always flip my head over and just spray the top of your hair,
and then what I do with my hands is I go through, and just kind
of separate and pull it out a little bit, just kind of pull up
on the root a little bit, and then flip your head over.
I'm really a big person about volume at the top
so I'll usually take a little bit of my teasing comb
and give it a little volume right there.
You can kind of play around with it, just kind of pull them out.
Again, with the ***, you can either leave it down,
or a lot of times people will kind of pin it to the side.
You can give it the bump, that's kind of popular,
to get a little more fancy look.
Then, what I do is add a little lipstick and lipgloss
and I'm out the door.
Today I'm wearing the CoverGirl Lip Perfection
in shade Sweetheart, and I put a little bit of the Lipshine
over it in shade Flare.
And that's all, so I hope that helped and that gave you
a quick way to be out the door.
Thanks, see you next time.
