We started our business as an internet web site
that provided a comparative estimation service for buying new cars.
We expanded into comparative car insurance estimation
and then into car value estimation for selling secondhand cars.
We next opened trade-car-view, which is the portal site for exporting second hand cars.
We also run a Social Networking Service for car owners named MINKARA,
which has 300,000 members; it is making a profit.
The trade site is Japan’s best viewed in this category.
Our worst business experience was a year before last and last year,
at the time of the Lehman Brothers shock.
The used car exports dropped dramatically.
It was very hard for us when used car exports dropped from 1.3 million to 600,000 per year.
However we survived this period
because we expanded our exports to Africa as an emerging market and as a risk hedge.
We had hoped that AdWords would provide a high turnout of page views
and would pick up users who have a strong interest
and as a result would bring high returns with respect to its cost.
In all respects AdWords has offered all we wanted.
Regarding the campaign
it took 2 to 3 days to make the whole structure and it only took a half day to launch it.
I was surprised because it was much shorter than we anticipated.
I think that the reporting function is very good
and I could tune up the settings in as much detail as I want.
I could check the previous day’s figures when I come into the office in the morning.
Therefore, we could work and run very detailed PDCA cycle, which is really advantageous.
In a word, AdWords is a strong business partner.
Because when we seek a new sales target area in overseas markets,
we would not have sufficient connections to the area,
but introducing AdWords to the target area
and seeing the response give us a business strategy.
In that respect AdWords is indeed a strong business partner.
AdWords has changed the concept of marketing.
