>> Joe: Welcome back to SourceFed, I’m the lonely Joe Bereta
[music]
>> You may have heard rumblings over the years about the grim working conditions, wages,
and treatment of WalMart workers. And you may have wondered to yourself, if it’s really
that bad, how is nothing changing?
>> Well, a new document leaked by Anonymous to Occupy Wall Street, who apparently has
still been occupying something this entire time, shows internal WalMart training materials
on how to discourage workers from unifying and taking action.
>> I’ve actually been able to acquire a
copy of the materials right here and I’m sure it’s not as bad as it sounds- OH MY
DEAR GOD! WHAT TOTALITARIAN DICTATOR PENNED THIS MADDNESS?!
>> TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY SCREEN
>> In order to save your eyes and minds, and protect the integrity of that bit, we will
not be showing you that paper I just saw. But I will tell you that the leaked document
instructs on how to demand loyalty and that all signs of worker dissatisfaction should
be reported immediately.
>> Tips for how to dissuade workers from joining a union include saying “For a Walmart associate,
I think unions are a waste of money. You can speak for yourself.” And “In My opinion,
unions just want to hurt Walmart and make it harder to run our business.”
>> Circulating the idea that all unions are
good for is taking your money, the materials encourage managers to pass along that idea
to their workers. You know, because they’re looking out for them.
