So funny. Okay, so um , hi. My name is Evan.
Um, this poem is called Siento Lo Mismo Para Ti.
It means: I Feel The Same For You.
My heart, my heart,
My heart is beating in two bodies now.
My heart has found a match.
I know immortality.I know all is possible.
I know what I have always known.
I can rest now
in peace I can dwell in joy
I am its very center. And you are here with me.
Love our meeting place. Love our jumping off place.
Love our everywhere.
My love and I,
May we have eternities stretched before us.
May we cherish each moment together as we do now.
May our love beget beauty and life itself.
May our love be light in creation,
Terra Nova, Across the Universe
Thank you for being you.
Thank the heavens for bringing us together.
Thank us for being us.
Te amo mi amor.Te amo.
You are earth and water and air and fire.
Life, newly born. I see Life when I look in you.
When you look in me what do you see?
I am ancient. Older than Earth. A new born babe.
I circle time all the time.
In every element we are evenly matched.
Every age is accounted for.
I do not think it luck our meeting. Our now.
We have fought so hard to be here
in this place. In this time.
So many tears. So many years. So much heart ache.
Loneliness. Pain.
So much Irrepressible hope and will.
Always Laughter.
Warrior, with a tender heart.
Brave, bruised, beautiful.
Body aging, Spirit Eternally young.
Strength beyond measure. Yes!
Yes, it's true.
My heart is your heart and your heart is my heart.
Be patient with me. I have been alone too long.
And I have suffered.
You and I know what this (suffering) means.
Sacrifice:
The rejection of self for the love of others.
For outward peace.
That time is over now. That time is past.
It is like waking from a dream into another dream.
And you are here with me.
My love, my love. Your love, your love.
Siento Lo Mismo Para Ti
Love guide us. Watch over us.
We are your happy servants.
Amen. (inaudible amen)
Um, Hi. Um, I just wanted to do a quick commentary,
um, for um, Siento Lo Mismo Para Ti.
And, uh, just talk about a little bit of how it came to be.
So, I wrote this a couple weeks ago.
Um, today is the 18th of October 2011.
I wrote it, I think on the 3rd. Um, either the 2nd or the 3rd.
Around that weekend, the beginning of October.
Um, my grandmother um passed away a year ago on the 3rd of October.
The beginning of the poem is um from something that she told me.
Um, when I asked her about um, she was a mother of 10
and I asked her what was it like? you know, to have 10 kids.
That’s just like, whoa!, you know.
And she said that it was like having her heart walk around in other people’s bodies.
Um, and I always thought that that was really interesting.
And she also said um, she also had a prayer um,
when if I called her and I was going through a hard time
um I’ve been kinda going through a tough time the last
couple months on and off,
um, but she would say um, to pray and ask God to open up my understanding.
So, her prayer was, Lord, open up my understanding.
And, um, my prayer has been for awhile, um, open up my heart.
Um, so that I might know love and um might
so that I would know love in all its complexities and all its variations
And um, that’s been my path since I was maybe 17? 16? Probably 17
um you know, when I fell in love for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time.
I’m joking, naw, um so um , partially joking. There, um, those were my reciprocal loves.
Um, I met a few of the loves of my life at that age so, um
so anyways um digressing.
Um, also, the poem is um, besides my grandmother’s influence,
the poem is also inspired by a woman that I met recently.
I met her at the end of August um right between the time of um
Leo ending and Virgo beginning and um
she’s just really special um and I’m really really really lucky
to have met her um and she inspired the poem.
And she’s um, when I gave it to her she wasn’t scared or freaked out and
she knows she just gets me.
And she knows that um, she’s a artist herself and
and she told me that sometimes she’ll see a picture or an image
and she has to take the picture right then
and I told her, you know, she understands that when I when I write
um sometimes I’m just feeling so much emotion that I have to put it into words
and um, it comes from what I’m feeling,
whose around me, or sometimes reaching from my past
and pulling in things from that. Integrating them
and just trying to make sense of things and um so this is based on um that.
Based on meeting her and um pulling in a little bit of my grandmother and the grief
um but also remembering the the love
And it’s philosophy, you know, about time and space and things like that. And so
um, yeh. So this is longer than I thought it was going to be. Um um
I just wanted to share a little bit about the genesis of the poem and um I’m really proud of it.
It’s actually one of my favorite things that I’ve written this year
so I just wanted to, you know, commemorate it. Thanks.
