I remember that tank going up our hill,
and of course it started looking where all the peoples are and Ukrainians,
there was two Ukrainians told them where the richest people were.
Yeah. So they started, four o’clock in the morning, coming.
We did not know where they’re going to take us, what they’re going to do.
But they just set my father on the floor, told him
- with his hands up because they took all the razors, knives, in cases he going to start fighting,
and told my mother, “In half an hour”
- it snow like hell because it was in winter
and it was really really snowing , very, very cold - “Half an hour to get your children ready”. And we don’t know where we was going.
What she did she put the warm clothes on and she took the quilts
– the feather beds because that’s what we had,
we had geese didn’t we, so she took the feather beads and the trucks
– they had some trucks then they were putting us on the trucks
and we were going from one neighbour to another ,
and they were collecting them all there
and taking them on to the train station.
They loaded us on the train and then they kept us quite a few days.
and there was no toilet in there. We dug the hole in the floor to go to toilet
We were just sitting there and waiting to start the train and go.
So as it started they told us where we were going.
And Siberia, I never heard that before.
I never knew Siberia – where is that?
