Hi I'm Chris Hildebrand of Hildebrand Law. I am an Arizona child custody lawyer. I have
been practicing child custody and family law in the state of Arizona for over 20 years.
"How do I prepare for a child custody evaluation in Arizona?" We will talk a little bit about
the process I go through with my clients and getting them prepared for custody evaluation.
The first thing you need to know are what are the relevant factors that a child custody
evaluator will consider; before issuing a report and recommendation to the court on
child custody and parenting time. You can find those factors at ARS 25-403. You can
go into any search engine and type in Arizona revised statues and you should get to the
Arizona legislative page and it will have a copy of that statue for you. You should
outline all the strengths and weaknesses of your case based upon each of those statutory
factors. You should focus on maybe bolstering the strengths on each of those factors and
maybe working towards mitigating any weaknesses you may have as to any of those factors. The
other thing I advise my clients to do, which I typically write but if you are not represented
by council you may write on your own is a position letter. Going through each of those
factors and outlining all the strengths and weaknesses addressing those in a positive
way. That will help you prepare for the child custody interview and to make sure the child
custody evaluation has everything from you in writing and if you have any problems the
evaluator didn't consider something. You can at least demonstrate to the court that you
shared the information to the evaluator. If you have any questions regarding how to prepare
for a child custody evaluation. Please feel free to email me at chris@hildebrandlaw.com.
I hope this information was helpful to you and thank you for watching our video.
