The community of Brigachtal is situated between Villingen-Schwenningen and Donaueschingen, on the border of the Black Forest.
In the year 1974,on October the first, the former villages Überauchen, Kirchdorf, Klengen and the hamlet Beckhofen, voluntarily merged into the town of Brigachtal.
Klengen is the oldest and largest township Brigachtals’.
Historical artifacts that where found in the township of Klengen, date back to the Neolithic age, to about 2.000 B.C.
Its name fist appeared in the year 765 on a charter of the monastery in St. Gallen.
The township Kirchdorf also is among the oldest villages in the region.
This is documented by excavations, which were carried out inside the St. Martins church by the state office for the preservation of monuments.
Their findings indicate that there has been a place of worship since the year 600 A.D.
The history of Überauchen commences early on too.
The antic roman estate Villa Rustica that was found in 'im Belli' dates back between the 2nd and 3rd century after Christ.
In the year 1078, the village was mentioned for the first time in a charter.
Brigachtal spans an area of 2280 acres.
Altogether, 1514 acres are farmed by 30 agricultural businesses.
The forest that is used for forestry, spans 527 acres.

By train, you have access to the airports in Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Zurich - from there you can travel the world.
With the 'Ringzug', you have access to all important places in our rural district.
Black Forest, Rottweil and Tuttlingen. Children and teenagers have trouble-free and affordable
access to secondary education, vocational training and educational activities.
With the 'Ringzug' and the hourly connections, you can work or go shopping in the region or go on trips with your bicycles and family.
The residential areas of all three townships can be reached with the ‘Bären-Express’ and its synchronized timetable.
Enclosed in our gorgeous countryside. the Baar, our community has sufficient housing space
and affordable building sites in all sizes. With the help of suitable subsidies
especially young families are financially supported. Nascent properties inside the core areas
are going to get reconstructed and built-up with new houses. Of course with access to the high speed optical network.
With their volunteers, over 40 clubs provide invaluable street work and offer
activities from fishing, sports, music to old traditions.
