>> Adam Valen Thayer Hall is a co-ed, traditional style dormitory. There are two bathrooms, both communal.
We decided to spaciously move around the room so that we both have our space as well as a lot of floor space in the middle.
In Thayer there is a tile floor so I would definitely recommend bringing a rug. I recommend bringing floor lamps.
The biggest thing for me was definitely to bring a little shower caddy to carry all of my stuff to the bathroom.
Each Living and Learning Community is a perfect size because you get to know everybody on a name-to-name basis
whereas some colleges you might not even meet the person down at the end of your hall. Whereas here, I know first
and last name; everything about everybody on my floor. So, it’s very friendly.
An urban campus is definitely a different experience from what I was expecting. It’s very livable.
And it’s a more social atmosphere because there’s a lot more things that you can experience in downtown Pittsburgh.
Just the idea of getting out and about really excites me about an urban campus.
